TIme to start and actually finish a locke for once. So here are the rules as dictated by the event:

    - All pokémon must be nicknamed
    - If a pokémon faints it is considered dead and must be boxed permanently
    - If all pokémon in your party faints is game over
    - Must catch the first pokémon encountered on a route (Even if is one you've caught before)
    - In-game gift pokémon are allowed (Only Totem Gumshoos/Raticate are allowed since they're the first totem you can get)
    - No Exp. Share
    - No Pokémon-Amie (this means you can't have Sylveon)
    - Pokémon that evolves via trading must gain 10 levels from capture/last evolution before you can evolve it again
    - Legendary pokémon are not allowed

    - You are required to log your progress at important points throughout the game*
    - If you fail a run you're allowed to restart and try again, once the event is over you'll be given PP based on the run you reached the furthest in.

    Important points:
    - Obtaining your starter
    - Battling rival
    - Obtaining a badge/clearing a trial
    - Entering Hall of Fame
    - Death of a Pokémon

Time to start this adventure. I will be picking my starter with the Trainer ID method, 0 is choice, 1-3 is grass, 4-6 is fire, and 7-9 is water.

So, I obtained my starter Pokémon for this Nuzlocke. My trainer ID ended in a 7 (15507), so I choose Mudkip to be my starter.

    The second installment.

I beat up Brendan after having received my starter the last time, it was a fairly easy fight and Nimbus grew to level 7. After the rival battle, I went back to the Lab and got the Pokédex and a set of 10 poke balls.

We get to Route 101 and the first encounter is a Female Wurmple! This little lady will be called Crimson and is currently level 2.

After going through the sneak tutorial, I went to heal and made a quick trip up to Route 103 to catch an early Pokémon there. It is a Zigzagoon, level 3, and female. Her name will be Sparkle.

Then onward with the PLOT. And on Route 103 my DexNav went off and I found a level 5 female Lotad. Her name is Helie. After beating all the trainers on Route 103, all my Pokémon grew a few levels, and Helie learned absorb, which is pretty good because she didn't have an offensive move.

We get to Petalburg city, and we get into the required catching tutorial with Wally and received the PlayNav features.

After that, we go to Route 104 to catch a new Pokémon. I got a DexNav Hit, like on Route 102, and found a Taillow with Mirror Move. Really neat!

And that was it for today. We got quite the team so far.

And another update on my AS Nuzlocke: Day three of the challenge.

I went to heal after catching my Taillow and training up the party a bit, beat all the available trainers in Route 104 before Petalburg forest and then went into the forest to catch a new Pokémon.

In the forest, I caught another Zigzagoon, this time a male one, and I gave it the name Sprinkle. NOw I have two pick up mons in my party, whoohoo, Sparkle and Sprinkle the Zigagoons. I beat the Aqua Grunt fairly easily and received an Exp Share for my troubles, but seeing as it is not allowed, I turned it off and went on to Rustboro City, beating all trainers on the way there. The twins on the bridge on route 104 were tough as nails once again. I skipped over the fisherman for the time being. Crimson evolved into a Cascoon somewhere along the way.

I arrive in Rustboro and after healing got onto route 116 to catch a new Pokémon to bolster my team a bit. I find another Taillow and this time it knows the move Peck, is a male and I ended up calling it Sting. So now I have Rogue and Sting the Taillow.

After grinding for Arceus knows how long to get my team up to level ten across the board after picking up Sting and depositing Rogue in the box. Crimson evolved into a Dustox as the last of my party members reached the desired levels. I thought I was ready for the Rustboro Gym and went to challenge Roxanne. Helie, my lotad, did pretty well across the board, only needed to be switched out when she almost died, forcing Nimbus the Mudkip to finish the fight for her.

I quickly did the required story progress and when to the Rusturf Tunnel to rescue Peeko and the Devon Goods, caught a Whismur int he process, she is called Gigi now and will be boxed for a good amount of time. Helie evolved into a Lombre during the Aqua Grunt fight.

Did the required talk with President Stone, got the Newsapp, and went to Route 104 to meet up with Mr. Briney and Peeko.

So a quick update seeing as I made more progress today.

I beat the Dewford Gym with relative ease after realizing that my Taillow was a bit underleved for this gym. He took on Brawly's Machop like a champ and then critted the Makuhita.

I caught a Magikarp named Twister in Dewford town with my new obtained fishing rod.

The letter from President Stone was delivered to Steven and he gave me the TM Steel Wing, which was promptly put on Sting the Taillow. After a bit of thought, I put the TM Roxanne gave me, Rock Tomb on Nimbus the Mudkip for some extra type coverage.

I purposely did NOT encounter any Pokémon in Granite Cave as I am hoping for an Aron encounter there when I get my bike in Mauville City. It means a bit of backtracking, but I have a fairly good roster of Pokémon at the moment and can afford to wait a bit.

Cleared the Slateport beach of its trainers, beat up all the trainers in the Seashore house and that is pretty much what happened.

Alrighty, time for a biggish entry.

We started by going to Route 110 for the encounter there. It was an Electrike, which I absolutely love. His name is Galaxy and he is Timid, which is just a good nature for this little pup. After healing and training a bit, I went to deliver the Devon goods to the shipyard, only to be pointed to the Museum, which was invaded by Team Aqua Grunts. Then Archie showed up, said something and went on his merry way. Anyway, goods delivered and I am allowed to go to Mauville city.

I did have to stop quickly to do the thing with Lisia and then got on my way, trained a bit with the possible trainers before tackling the Trick house.

The Trick House was not as I hoped and the first death of the run occurred.

A bitter moment seeing as I lost my first mon, and I had been hoping to be able to use a Swellow in this run, before remembering that I got a dupe sitting in the box. So I went to swap Sting for Rogue and trained up the little lady to take Sting's place.

Then after the Rival battle with Brendon where you get the item finde and where Nimbus almost died, I lost another Pokémon.

I reached Mauville and got my bike, and after depositing Crimson the Dustox and poor Sprinkle, I went back to Dewford to get my Granite Cave encounter. I managed to get an Aron! His name is Cobalt, and it is such a cutie.

I just went back to Mauville afterward, training a bit along the way.

Time for an update! I had class the past few days, so I had to do other stuff instead of nuzlocking.

On route 117, I caught a Roselia that I called Tesoro and it was added to the team, before I started to train up the team to around level 20 even.

During the training, Rogue evolved into a Swellow and I couldn't be happier about it. Shortly after that I went to the gym, where Sparkle reached level 20 and evolved into a Linoone. Thanks to Nimbus, Watson was easy and now we are heading out to do some plot stuff.

A mini update, seeing as I lost one of my Pokémon Yesterday.

After beating Watson I continued on to the north to catch some new Pokémon and head to Fallabor Town. I caught a Numel on Route 112 that I called Nommel, seeing as I had no clue on what to name it otherwise.

Then I continued on through the Fiery Path, thanks to a repel I encounter nothing, and then got to Arune something, got the power to make secret bases, and went on to route 113.

Sparkle lost the fight against a lv 26 Dexnav Sandshrew, but I managed to catch the Sandshrew and called it Chocolat. I dunno why.

Went to Fallabor, plot stuff, then to route 114, caught Yukio the Swablu, and that is pretty much it, aside from level grinding to get Yukio up to par.

Oh, boy. We have a few things to report.

After catching Yukio and training for a bit, I went to the Meteor Falls to advance the Plot, yay...

I caught a Zubat, Lillith, in the Meteor Falls before battling Shelly and her sidekick. Then I went to Pr. Cosmos house, and then to Mauville, went up the volcano to stop Archie. Had a few death scares thanks to his annoying Mightyena. Galaxy evolved into a Manectric. Caught Sheen the Spoink in the Jagged Pass. Trained some more to challenge Flannery and won due to only fighting with Nimbus... Yay, a new badge.

I went out to get some encounters that I missed before, Route 111 was Trapinch called Carmine and Fiery Path was a Torkoal, Gyu.

I stopped in Rustboro to stock up and there I ended the game in preparation to start grinding for Norman.

    So, this happened today.

I took on the Petalburg Gym, lost Chocolate, who I had in the party to train for a bit and take some hits seeing as he had pretty good defense, to a crit. I would be calling hacks if not that I was in the crit room, so yeah.

I beat Norman by cheesing the fight and taught Nimbus Protect against the Slakings. Fifth gym down, whoohoo.

Then on to the plot stuff, Mauville visit, then to Route 118. Caught a Linoone there, Sparkle II, boxed forever. Met STaven Stone went with Latios to rescue Latias, caught Latias, named her Dahlia, boxed her forever.

Beat all available trainers and Cobalt evolved into a Lairon, and he rocks that good defense, phewy. Started grinding on route 119 after catching a Gloom called Merry there to get Carmine to level 35, he evolved as well.

Fought Shelly at the Weather Institute, beat up Brendan shortly afterward, reached Fortree City. Snooped around on route 120 to see if I could encounter an Absol. Found a Linoone instead. It is called Spru now.

And that is pretty much it.

And so dawns the final day of my Nuzlocke. My team is level 55 all around and the only challenge left is the Elite four of Hoenn and its Champion. I am nervous. What if I screw up? What if I let my Pokémon down and we lose it all? I square my shoulders and walk through the door before I can change my mind and go to meet my fate.

The first Challenge is Sidney the Dark Type user. Thanks to Tesoro the Roserade and his Dazzling Gleam, his team is not that much of a challenge and we have all survived to face the second route of fighters. It is Phoebe the Ghost type Queen and Pein takes the lead in this fight. I decided early on that he was to be my Mega Pokémon and he knocks out Phoebe's Pokémon like it is nothing, the Froslass are taken out my Cobalt the Aggron out of safety and we managed to get through it alive. I need to heal my team. They suffered heavily under the onslaught Phoebe send our way and we warily continue on to face with Glacia, the Ice specialist. Luckily for me, both Galaxy and Cobalt are more than capable of dealing with her team and we fare a lot better than in the fight with Phoebe. But after Glacia we have to fight Drake, and he is the one I have been fearing the most. I was right to fear him. Despite my best efforts, Pein loses and I have to call him back with tears in my eyes. The Salamence may be looking real smug, but it is quickly wiped off his face when Carmine takes him out with a well placed Dragon Claw. It hurts to realize I have to face the Champion with a team of 5 instead of 6. Pein won me more battles than I can remember and now he is no longer there to support his team members.

I trudge up the stairs, barely acknowledging the fact that I have done much better than I ever expected. I came farther than I ever could hope for. My final battle had arrived and all I could feel was the numbness of losing one of my beloved comrades. We were so close to making it all to the end. Steven started a speech, I can't remember what it was about, but we started the fight shortly after. In my anger, I started taking out his Pokémon left and right. Paralyzing them with Galaxy's Discharge and then Earthquaking them. The final Pokémon was there, Steven's Metagross. That thing had almost taken out my starter Pokémon Nimbus. The darling that had been with me for my entire adventure, he hung on with 3 HP and I quickly recalled him, replacing him with Cobalt. After the fiasco with Pein, I had the mental thought to replace my Mega user and picked Cobalt. The Metagross never stood a chance after I Mega Evolved Cobalt. It took one more Earthquake and it was all over. I had won the game.

    The End has come.
    We won.
