There are many audio and video players available for the music and video enthusiast to choose from: some well-known programs among them are VLC, Windows Media Player, and iTunes among others. Which do you use to listen to music and watch videos? How long have you been using them?

Windows Media Player since 2010. I use it to listen to my music. It's pretty simple and doesn't ask me to update every week.

Same as Losty, plus, I use a Windows Phone, so it makes things simpler.

I used to use iTunes for music up until earlier this year I believe. Now I use Spotify and have been for a few months now.
For videos, I don't really open too many video files on my computer, but I use Windows Media Player when I do.

For music, I almost always use Windows Media Player. For videos, it depends on the file format-I use VLC for flash videos and some other formats that Windows Media can't play. I also use VLC to watch DVDs most of the time.
In addition, I have QuickTime installed and use it only for QuickTime media content (since its user interface and operating performance are crap.)

Honestly, Media Player doesn't take hours to open, causes no lag, and comes with the package. So there!

I use iTunes, QuickTime, and sometimes VLC for music, and I use QuickTime and VLC for videos. iTunes I used the longest, since I like listening to music when RPing or working on homework or whatever. QuickTime I use if I don't want to add a song to my library; video-wise, if the filetype can be played on QuickTime I'll use that over VLC. Lastly, VLC I use if I wanna adjust the equalizer for songs and if I wanna take screencaps of a video.

VLC is my go-to player. It's open source, and can support a lot more formats than Window's default player without the need to download plug-ins and codec packs. I especially like the way you can resync video/audio to an extent if either tracks don't match up correctly. Classic Media Player is another one that I use occasionally, much for the same reasons as VLC.

I used to use Windows Media Player, but then I got a mac, and I don't really download music anymore. When I do, I'll just use iTunes.

But normally I just use Spotify, or Youtube if it isn't on Spotify.

I mainly use VLC, but sadly it has poor support for my favourite sound file type - Midi, so I have to use Windows Media Player for that. :/
