(mega) Latios & Latias

I found it to be handed out a little early, but my major complaint is that you can't really quickly SR for it, and that it's forced into your party. I would have liked it better had I been able to talk to it before it jumped into my party.

 

I used it on my team, I personally don't think it was too early, but I think that Mega Evolution came too late. You got it after the 3rd Gym in X and Y, why did you have to wait until after the 5th gym in OR/AS?

 

I have Latias, and it was kind of disappointing to see GF give it to us so early, but other then that I love it! Flying around in the sky <3 It was on my in game team x3 Though I only used it when necessary (Elite four lol)

 

I got Latios, and it really didn't make the team. However, I love it how you use it for soaring and the little animation is so cute. Even though it was pretty much just handed out, it really made it feel like the Pokémon actually wanted to be your friend regardless of who you were.

 

I kinda have a mixed feeling about this. Yeah, it's pretty awesome that they pretty much hand you a mega legendary mid-game, but it's a bit to early

 

I was disappointed because I hate being given Pokémon. I would prefer to have caught it myself if anything. I agree that It was too early in the game to give it to us because it spoils the game. It also lowered the value of having them XD

 

I got Latias, I've always prefered that one really. It made it into my team on occasion as well

 

This. I actually didn't bother SRing more than once (I needed to get rid of that Careful nature) for it since I didn't know when everything was going to happen and, since GF nicely blocked off my escape route, I didn't have a Synchronize Pokémon.

Technically my Latios isn't part of the team, but I have been swapping him in off and on so that I can count on not to get steamrolled by Groudon.

 

I have Latias, I caught it and then used it on my team to check it out, but I felt like it was too strong so I put it in a pc box.

 

I didn't box Latias right away, but I never really used it seriously either.
It gained a decent amount of levels via EXP share, at least until I put it into the PC to make room for other Pokémon.

 

I got Latios, and I'm using it and am planning to use it for the entirety of the game. I kinda have mixed feelings about being handed a Mega Legendary, but it's not overly strong, even with the Mega Evolution, so I think they did well with it.

 

I have to admit, it was a little early, but at least it offered you the choice to use Lati@s for a lot of the game. It is rare for them to just give you a legendary, so that was cool .

 

I was shocked when i learned that a latios/latias was given to you WITHOUT EVEN TRY TO CATCH IT in the middle of the game.
Quite easy for the rest of the game!

 

I SRed a few times to get a decent one and then boxed it. Poor Latias hasn't seen the light of day since.. well, that's untrue since I soar on it, but.. :'( The mega Latis are some of my overall least favorite mega evolution designs and I'm not fond of using legendaries on my story team since that makes the game easier than it already is. Sorry, Latias!

 

I got a Latios, because I was playing OR. I was a little dissapointed, because I wanted a Latias, but I could cope. It proved really useful throughout the rest of OR.

I do think the mega stone was handed a bit too early, it made the flying gym really easy to beat.

 

I was okay with it. It finally allowed people to use Lati@s without having to catch it late game or postgame. It was only level 30 and it could be easily added to your team. You aren't forced to use mega evolution btw.

 

I'm totally fine with the mega stone being given to you.

I loved my beloved Larry the latios despite him being a Hardy-natured one. (I forgot to save before meeting him) I EV trained the crap out of him and so far he's done me wonders.

I can say that both of they're mega evos could've been designed better, however.

 

I do wish that we got to battle it, but at least we have the Eon Ticket Lati for that, haha. I do wish we got Mega Evolution a bit earlier in the story in general, but I really liked the Latias/os sidestory quite a bit. Visiting Southern Island and battling Team Aqua/Magma to save it was really cool! I never used the Latios I got in Omega Ruby originally, but since the Latias I got in my Alpha Sapphire Nuzlocke was shiny, I used her on my team, haha. She was really useful, and such a good powerhouse!

 

The whole part with Steven and the Eon Duo kind of confused me. Steven randomly appears on a Latios (which already raises a lot of questions), and takes you away to some kind of deserted island in the middle of the ocean. We're talking about the Pokémon League Champion, who just kidnapped a ten year old child. Amazing. Anyway, you arrive on the island, some dialogue happens, and then suddenly Team Aqua appears! Again, this makes no sense in any way! I'm not even questioning the perfectly timed coicidence of their meeting (that's just Pokémon logic), but how in the world did they find that island? It's a really small island, somewhere in the huge ocean surrounding Hoenn. And then Latias wants to join your team for what reason exactly? I haven't even proven myself yet; I just got my fifth badge! And on top of everything, you also receive the Mega Bracelet from Steven, because he always carries a spare one around for occasions like that, I guess...

Maybe I wasn't in the greatest of moods while playing that section, but I found it really strange and confusion. Too many seemingly random factors for it to make sense to me xD
