Miley Cyrus/Wrecking Ball

Just some girl trying to get attention, and trying to display something thats sells today. I'd like to see a new, refreshing artist step up and supprise us one day.

 

The song itself is Miley just trying to be Sinead O'Connor. It wouldn't be getting NEAR the amount attention it's been getting if it weren't for the whole nudity bit.

On a lighter note; this exists.

 

Yea people watch it more for the pop culture apeal then talent or actually liking the music

Nothing new at all. I don't see what the big stink is about from people. As far as "there has to be a boundary"? No. Why should there be? Artists are all about pushing boundaries and that's a good thing. No new boundary is being pushed here, but still. Nobody is forced to experience it anyway. I don't care at all about pop music or Miley Cyrus's music, not my thing, but I can respect that she's growing up and trying to distance herself from little Disney princess, and I don't think it's fair that people are up in arms about it as if she has some sort of goddamn obligation to stay kid friendly just because that's what she used to make money from.

Also I haven't heard about that college guy who did that but I hope he got hurt.

No matter how much you want to break away from your old image, you do not need to be freaking naked. I think the Can't Be Tamed video was good enough as a breakaway image, you don't have to go Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and Katy Perry rolled into one. Also, I have not watched it and do not plan on watching it.

Attention. That's mostly what she's after.

And she's certainly done it. She's got most people's attention and hell we're even talking about her now. It's distasteful, and I don't really believe she has to swing around on a giant wrecking ball and lick sledgehammers in order to break away from her Disney past. Look at all the famous musical artists who were discovered at an early age. Did they all have to prove that they weren't children anymore? No. As far as the song is concerned, I believe it is a good song and I'm not even a fan of her music. She's tried to use sex appeal in her music videos but there is a way to do it properly, not like this. After Disney, there wasn't much going for her, so she wanted to revive herself in order to receive some publicity. Nudity is natural but displaying it to children of a young age is quite distressing.

And like other's have said, I see that she's trying to break away from the whole Disney image, but I think she already accomplished that before Wreaking Ball. She also has a very young fanbase because of Disney, which she has to realize before she starts popping in music videos bare naked.

 

I'm not a big fan of her. Even when she was the little Disney Princess, I never really watched any of her stuff. I give her credit for trying to break away from the Disney mold and be herself. Grow up and do what she wants to do. But i think she may need to think a little bit before she acts. Now i think she's just a bit crazy. XD

 

The thing is with celebs like this, especially former child stars that get used up (see Lindsay Lohan), no publicity is bad publicity; they're getting something from all of it. Hence the twerking shit, hence this "controversial" video, which shouldn't be considered that damn controversial because this level of sexuality has been done many times before. She wanted attention, and people are giving it to her, even if some of it is over over-sensitive and misplaced "moral" concerns. Mission accomplished, couldn't have done it without ya.
