So mini games and optional things, something found in plenty of games and sometimes even in great numbers. So what are your thoughts on them?

Do you use the mini games/features when you find them?
Do you enjoy them or do you rather not bother with them unless you have to?
If you enjoy the mini games/features is there a kind you prefer over others?
    Do you have any favorites?

Depending on which kind of mini game it is and how well executed it is I may or may not enjoy it. I've found out I like fast paced mini games things that takes maybe 2-3 on average max. It doesn't matter to me if the games can be played against NPCs or PCs so long as I enjoy it.

I do have an all time favorite when it comes to mini games and optional features, chocobo racing in Final Fantasy XIV. Even if racing is the main thing you can train your chocobo make it rise in rating so it can compete in bigger races and even breed chocobos you've retired so the new fledgling can carry on the legacy of its parents.

Another mini game i enjoyed quite a bit was the card game from Final Fantasy IX, My friends and I could spend a ton of time trying to make a good deck in order to beat the harder NPCs.

And of course something from Pokémon have wiggled in on my list too, the mini games from Amie in the gen 6 games. I really enjoy the puzzle panel one even if I don't do Amie a whole lot I've just always been a nuts for puzzles like that.

I'm not really into mini games, actually. I tend to try them once or twice, then continue with the story. When in the post-story phase of the game though, I do return to see what I missed out on. I prefer to play the story before the mini games, though.

My favourite mini game is from Pokémon DPP: the Underground. I could easily spend hours underground, trying to dig up new stuff. Too bad barely any of my friends played Pokémon, so I have never played it together with anyone... Well, except for my brother, but it would've been more fun if my friends also played it. Too bad.

I liked the gambling mini games in dead or alive extreme games.
Like poker and black jack. Always fun and it has some great fan service to dish out as well.

    On the same topic here.
Butt battle was challenging and also well designed.

I always like mini games and really look forward to playing them.
the king of mini games, at least to me was Mario Party.

It stepped up a lot compared to other video games.

Do you use the mini games/features when you find them?

Yeah, I usually try them out at least once. I won't know if I'll like them if I don't try them, after all.

Do you enjoy them or do you rather not bother with them unless you have to?

I usually do enjoy a good break in pace form the regular gameplay. they usually don't hold my attention for too long but still, they're fun.

If you enjoy the mini games/features is there a kind you prefer over others?

I like minigames that at least have some relevance to the world in which they are placed in. For instance, Final Fantasy's Chocobo races make sense in context of the world.

    Do you have any favorites?

Kirby 64 has this awesome minigame where you fight to try and stay alive on a floating platform. It's surprisingly fun and I've played it a lot with my brother and friends.
