How much pride do you take in your appearance? Are you the kind of person who will spend hours getting their hair or makeup juuuust right before going somewhere? Do you always like to look your best, or is casual clothing good enough for any situation shy of a funeral? Is there a certain style that you think suits your physical appearance best, or do you look good no matter what you wear?
I absolutely care about my appearance. I never put much effort into my hair or make up, but I can spend a lot of time picking my outfit for the day, and I have a lot of fun browsing clothes at stores. I'm not sure what my style is, but I'm drawn to clothes without patterned print (aside from the occasional animal or skull design). I also have a lot of fun mixing things up with accessories (mostly scarves and hats). I just have a lot of fun with clothes.
I don't actually care about my appearance as much as others. As long as I'm warm enough and have a nice T-Shirt (usually something Nintendo-related) and my jeans are slack enough that they're not denim leggings, and my hair is slightly more tame, I'll be fine for the entire day. Shoes... whatever I can get on fastest. Glasses are a must because I can see about as well as a rock without them. I don't really care for trends and I really hate clothes shopping, so I'm not one to care that much.
"What is an appearance?" I ask as I just throw myself on my bed. I don't care about my appearance at all. I just throw something on and leave when I have to. Unless it's for something important, I won't even look at a mirror. I think that might have to do with my fear of mirrors, but I don't really care. Just some clothes and a reason to have them and I'm good. I will admit that I don't match very often, so I do look a bit outlandish. But I think I look nice.
Any day that I plan to leave my house at all, I probably spend longer than I should at the mirror, but not immensely long. Probably a solid 5-7 minutes: brush and pick my teeth, trim the whiskers, rub off individual loose skin flakes, set my hair juuust right. And don't get me started on clothes: I can fuss for fifteen minutes easy about what to wear, and it's never just a t-shirt: always a button-shirt with rolled sleeves or a polo or sweater or something just a bit elevated, and then it comes to the colors! If I put this maroon with that black, will it be overall too dark? Should I wear a gray undershirt or black for just that bit that shows above my second button? How about my khakis, my formal-ish ones or my casual-ish ones? It can take too long, and I always put it off for the morning. And there is a certain style that looks good on anyone: whatever that person feels most comfortable in, however much or however little time and effort it takes. That subtle improved mood and disposition from wearing what you want to wear gives such a boost to the appearance that it outweighs being more conventionally fashionable. I look better in formal-ish clothes than in casual clothes because I want to, because that's what I want to wear and it makes me comfortable and happy and therefore better-looking. Rock your own style!
I don’t really care too much about my appearance. I definitely don’t go through the effort of putting on makeup, unless it’s for guard (in which case I have to). I generally am modest in how I look, which means long and loose clothing.
*reads the title* "..who is the fairest of them all?" Yupp, I do like to look good everytime, including when I'm sad or have just cried my entire heart out. Including funerals as well, if thats not a funeral where I did cry. Hey, dont look at me like that! Oh, okayy, clearing the hugeee misunderstanding!! By 'look good', I mean 'look natural.' Not like throwing the entire case of compact on my face and rubbing the entire lip-stick on my lips, alright?? I prefer to look natural. Really natural. Even at occasions like Christmas, New year, my b'day, etc. I dont dress up much. I do like to wear best but simple clothes, I just dont like to wear all that 15 minutes makeup! Me when I see makeup tutorials- "what...what is that thing called..?"
I'm very unconfident in my appearance and I think I'd look silly if I tried to 'pretty' myself up. I don't wear makeup or fancy clothes. I'll usually just throw on a t-shirt and jeans. I'd probably put in more effort into my appearance if I had the confidence, but I don't think I'll ever overcome my self-esteem related issues.
I've already found my style when I was young, and I'm going to stick to it for the rest of my life. Suffice to say, I take a lot of pride in how I look. I will always wear blue shirts. I don't care what that shirt is, if its a simple solid blue it's my go to shirt. I also hold solid red and black shirts, but I never wear them. I also like to keep my hair pristine and perfect. I can feel when its off and I get antsy when its not perfect. Sometimes my hair is perfectly aliened the minute I wake up, sometimes I have to spend ten minutes forcing it to be the way I want it. Most of the time mornings are really fast, just throw on a blue shirt that fits the occasion, swipe my hair real fast and done.
Due to self esteem issues I developed during adolescence, I’ve started taking my appearance more seriously. Instead of wearing a t-shirt with jeans everyday, I’ll try to wear a button up shirt with long pants on some days. My acne started going out of control, so I began to put on pimple cream every evening. In the mornings, my bed head tends to look like a cockatoo. To alleviate this, I spend about three minutes brushing my hair.
Unfortunately, my skin is terrible and sensitive, so I can't do much outside of washing myself and using a cleanser, which I do daily.
