What is your opinion on modding your games? Do you prefer to keep your game pure and vanilla, or mix things up a bit by using mods? State your opinion here!

Personally, I use mods. Games like Skyrim and Fallout thrive off of their huge modding communities, who add all sorts of fun things into the games. Modding is probably the biggest reason why people are still playing Skyrim today.

I don't think that I really have ever modded any video games. It is something that I would probably do a little bit more if I had many games for the PC. I'm perfectly fine with people modding as long as they don't bring them into online gaming.

The only game I've ever modded is Minecraft. I would totally mod like crazy if I played more PC games, but sadly, I prefer consoles pretty much 80% of the time. Skyrim mods would be awesome! Especially the Miku one.

I've modded several games. It helps lengthen the game for me, though I still go back and play the vanilla version sometime.

I generally like keeping things vanilla, but every once in a while, I will use a mod, like in Minecraft.

Modding stuff can be pretty fun, providing that the mods are actually good and not something incredibly ugly or terrible. Sometimes the worst mods are the most hilarious though.

It depends on the game that is being modded. Usually if a game has a huge modding community, then you pretty much have no true reason not to mod your game. Some people choose to of course beat their game first, get past the main story and adventure that the developers originally wanted you to go through. Then finally they look into what the fans and community have created. Some games that have lived longer thanks to modding, is Sonic Generations (on the PC). This game was dying but as the modding community got to work, we have so many cool, awesome, and fun mods that make Sonic Generations fresh and new, and still a fun game.

I think that mods are fun because they add little details into the game that you didn't have before. They add extra parts to the game that other players have created. They are fun, I will generally play mostly vanilla (adding one or two mods that don't change up the game a large amount), then after a while mod the game like crazy to see what happens.

    Mod's are fun stuff~
I wouldn't consider it cheating either, but modding has it's benefits and doubts. I modded the most during the time when I was playing Skyrim. Those were the good old days~

There was a time in my life where I was absolutely determined to make Skyrim as beautiful as I possibly could. This was not the first time I was into modding the Elder Scrolls series, however Skyrim is when I really dug deep into the modding scene, learning about different EnBs and what have you.

Simply put, it took me at least a month to achieve a Skyrim that was fit to my playstyle. And to be honest, I was so engrossed with the way the game looked I couldn't get any of missions done. XD

That was the EnB and Graphics enhancements I used.
And I have some screen shots from testing other EnBs found here.

Modding is a very innovative way to enhance your gaming experience. There are just so many things you can do to make the game absolutely perfect for you. Whether it be adding that realistic mode to the game, or making it harder (or some people, easier), who wouldn't enjoy customizing something to their own preference? Isn't that the charm of doing anything yourself? :D

I made my own mod once, called the alcohol mod for minecraft haha. It's been a while since i last looked in to that because after a while i stopped updating it. Was a fun time tho !

Personally I like games a lot with mods, especially when you first played the vanilla game.
