Announce earlier today, a teaser have been released for this, Monster Hunter World is getting its first expansion called Iceborne. It does not show much other than giving us the season and year it'll be released in so far, autumn 2019. What do you hope to see with this brand new addition coming to World? I'm hoping for more monsters, of course, both old and new and the ice/snow maps many like me seem to want. But most of all I'm hoping for a good story with a decent amount of stuff to do after you've cleared it. Hoping for a amazing story might be too much since this is Monster Hunter and story is usually not what they put most weight on.
Excuse me whilst I scream with sheer despair that this will have more "narrative" to it...if the base game is anything to go by, it's going to be bad. Honestly, this one is going to depend solely on the monsters and the armour sets for me...and the pricing I suppose. I dropped World a long time ago for its lackluster content and never looked back. I can't bring myself to be even remotely excited for this when they fouled it up so badly with the base game. A threadbare lineup of monsters, dismal armour sets - and I am a huge fashion hunter in the games, so this removed over 90% of my fun! - and that story...well. I'll wait and see, but if this is more of the same, it's a very hard pass for me.
Nice to hear for fans who are into the game, though I'm sadly not one who can try it since it's not Mac OS. Heard not-so-great things about performance and framerate issues so until that is cleared up, I probably won't be trialing it on my Windows partition. Hope those who play enjoy it! I'm excited until they patch up the aforementioned issues so I can give it a shot myself.
