So, what game would you say is the one that you can come back to always and play it again without getting THAT bored? I would say most things on my 3DS for me.
Undertale but I would never replay it. For reasons in the game's canon (I don't wanna reset them). Also animal crossing new leaf. I keep coming back to it and I'll always play animal crossing games as they keep coming out. I know that's two but shhhh.
..Probably Monster Hunter? There's so many weapons and armors to get, as well as active online play on the 3DS! I do put it down at times, but out of frustration- not boredom.
Golden Sun 1 & 2. (I am aware it's two video games, but it's one whole story that was split in half into two games.) That's not even a question, and it's not ever going to be in danger of leaving the top spot.
That's a hard one since there's a few games I really love, Final Fantasy XIV is one of them and I also really love playing Monster Hunter so I guess maybe those two are tied as favorite since I can't really pick.
Explorers of Sky, for sure. It's one of the easiest games to get into - picking it up, immersing myself in the world and atmosphere and slipping back into the usual groove of taking missions and doing dungeons makes it one of the best "comfort food" sort of games I've ever seen. It's never lost its luster to me. Solatorobo and Breath of the Wild are also up there for me, for similar reasons. Same goes for Sonic Mania, though I'll stay mum on that until it's out for PC players, heheh.
Or at least for a month or so after release date. That's generally the acceptable date for spoiler/gameplay facets, though even then you should still approach it with care - and use spoiler tags if need be. I have seen my friend play through Sonic Mania, and I can say it is a nice game. ...That's all I want to say for fear of spoiling anything, ahaha.
I'd have to say... Kingdom Hearts 2. It's the game of my childhood and I'll never let it fade away from my heart. All the wonders have left an imprint on me.
I feel you, heheh. Trust me, I'll be keeping it on the down-low until everyone's had a chance to play it (now that I've played it I'm legit sad that the PC folks have to wait a little longer to play it). For me, I feel like the thing about really good games is that they're (for lack of a better metaphor) a finely-tuned machine; at their strongest, even if you're not actively looking for it, you can sense how all of the little pieces work together. Breath of the Wild, for instance: you explore and find enemies and weapons, your old weapons break and so you have to rely on new ones (thus learning how the weapontypes work and what situations are good for them), you get hurt so you spend a little time experimenting with the stuff you find to cook (putting them to the test in other combat scenarios), and the runes you get to use and learn a lot of utilities for in the shrines, thus giving you more info and more ideas about how to use them to explore and fight more. It all loops together in a way that really fires on all cylinders. Speaking of that, Etrian Odyssey 4 would also go here for me. Now that's a really solid 3DS game.
Tough call. Between TIE Fighter, Kingdom Hearts, Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (Blazing Sword), and Pokémon XD : Gale of Darkness... I just can't choose. ;;;
I'm going to have to say Super Mario World. Its my favorite game of one of my favorite genres and I have a lot of fond memories of it, in addition to just being a very good game.
Probably Ninja Gaiden for the NES. Crazy hard game, but a huge sense of accomplishment once you beat it! (And it only took me, like, 20 years . . . .) For Super Nintendo, it's Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. For the N64, it's a tie between Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Love both those games, and it's hard to pick because they don't feel complete without each other. I always wished they rounded it out and made a trilogy. Most of the games made after that era just don't feel like they're in the same class to me.
the Pokémon mystery dungeon games (especially red rescue team and explorers of sky) and a lot of sonic games will always have a special place in my heart. it's hard to choose just one specific game that's my absolute favorite, because i have lots of favorites. i do know what my top 10 favorite games are though.
Definitely would rank BOTW up there with the Ocarina of Time experience, too. I was pretty blown away by the whole look and feel of the game.
