Most Overrated Pokemon

Mew and Mewtwo, there are much better legendaries and I think they get too much attention. Charizard as well, all my friends who play chose charizard in x and y because he's "the best" then I chose blastiose and KOed them in one move.

 

Pikachu is overrated by a landslide. Blaziken and Charizard also get too much attention .

 

Mew? I agree. Mewtwo? NO WAY. Just watch "Mewtwo Strikes Back" movie, and you will understand why he has such a big fanbase... even thought I agree that the other Mewtwo from the new movies are not as good as this retired badass.

Legendary-wise, I also thought Arceus is a really overrated and not cool Pokémon, while Celebi is really underrated.

 

I always thought Gardevoir was overrated. Granted I'm not much a fan of Psychic types, but I just never really found any use for Gardevoir.

 

Gardevoir is overrated by the creepy Pokephilles who masturbate to that Pokémon. Infact I find it hard to use it on my team sometimes just because of the aspect.

 

Lucario, by far. It's not a bad Pokémon overall, but people just seem to be obsessed with it. Too obsessed with it. I don't know if it's just cause it was showcased so much in the anime, or because of its "misunderstood empathic" feelings gimmick, or if it's just cause it's a bipedal fox looking thing (which is all the rage these days, often in disgusting and shameful ways) but yeah, Lucario is probably the single most overrated Pokémon in recent times.

 

Charizard. Charizard is seriously the only Pokémon is so over-hyped that I just get angry every time I see praise for it. That's not a good thing. It's not even because people like the concept or because they like the idea behind it, the name, or even it's role in the anime. Most people only like it because it was their first Pokémon. I can understand where they're coming from with that. There really isn't any Pokémon like the first, but doesn't automatically make it the best in any way. Yeah, it can be your favorite, but don't go around thinking it's the legitimate best just because it looks kind of cool and was your first Pokémon.

 

I honestly don't see why people turn their nose up at certain Pokémon because of what some freaks do with them. It doesn't affect their stats. Both Lucario and Gardevoir are amazing Pokémon, and I use them almost every chance I get. They have great Sp. Atk, Gardevoir boasts a great Sp. Def, Lucario a great Attack and not too shabby speed. Amazing for single player, fun to use. Not sure in competitive. Doima's points I can agree with, though.

But a Pokémon I think is overrated, fucking Pikachu. I could go on and on about how much I hate this Pokémon, and that it's so overrated. "omgggg mascot must b gr888881!!!!!!!!" no

 

I can see where you're coming from when you say that you don't get people not liking a certain Pokémon because of what the freaks do with it, but with some Pokémon what the freaks do with it makes it awkward, and sometimes shameful to like. I could see Gardevoir being one of those for some people. Since Gardevoir really doesn't even seem all that feminine to me (it's based on a knight) but there are the people who post those creepy pictures of it. With that kind of thing I can definitely see it driving them away from a Pokémon.

I mean... I hate Lopunny for what the freaks do with it, and that one isn't even that popular.

Still, my vote goes for Pikachu, as I said it before.

 

Charizard is kinda weird, it has those true fans, then the fanboys, then the genwunners. Pikachu, just plain sucks. Blaziken is actually pretty freaking good when you give it SB *cough*Ubers*cough* and Lucario is a good multi-attacker.

Lopunny and Gardevoir get my vote because we all know of the pervs out there (We should gather all those people in one place, and then bomb that place).

 

Hmmm I never really thought about who's overrated. Shouldn't dislike a Pokémon just because seemingly too many people love it!

I actually didn't know about the perverts, when I first came across Gardevoir and Lopunny. I thought they looked cool, used them for maybe a little while, then found much more useful Pokémon. I didn't know about Lucario's popularity, either. (and was one of those who thought it was a legendary, haha) I do really like Lucario, and find it one of the more useful Fighting types....but I agree that it isn't OMGTHEBESSSST.

 

Don't get me wrong. I like these Pokémon. But they are kind of over-rated.

Lucario, Blaziken, Pikachu, and Axew.

Everyone seems to like...super love Lucario. Yeah it's a cool Pokémon, looks cool, and has cool abilities and whatnot. But it's kind of an average power Pokémon. Nothing too special about it. Blaziken is a little on the strong side. Pikachu is like...everywhere you look. The Pokémon parasite. Everyone knows of it and such.

I also think shiny Pokémon are a bit over-rated. >>

 

I have to agree with quite a lot of you that Lucario, Charizard, and Pikachu are really really over rated. Yes, they're cool/awesome/cute, but it's kinda sad that the Pokémon fandom can be summed up by a few handful of Pokémon. Most people I know who are not really into Pokémon just mention Pikachu/Charizard/Lucario/some others that I can't remember right now because of my poor memory.

Also, Eevee. And any fox-like Pokémon like Zorua/Zoroark. In most art RPs I join in, there is always at LEAST 45% of the total RP population who use these guys. Also included are the aforementioned 3. I mean, dude, there are already 200000000000 Eevees/Zoruas in this group, why another one?! (yes, PMDE, I am talking about you.)

 

Lucario imo. Though I still really love Lucario.
