What, in your opinion, is the most useful item in the game? It can be a powerful item, one with a great mechanism, or one that just has the best design. Keep in mind that all items in the Pokémon universe can be stated here, including those in spin-off games such as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.

    All right then, I'll start.

My vote goes to the friend bow in PMD Red/Blue Rescue Team. Sure, there's the amber tear and golden mask, but friend bow still wins for me. My only reason is nostalgia purposes, and that it helped me recruit so many Pokémon with negative recruitment rates.

As for a non-spin-off game item, I think...

Do I even have to explain? A 50% boost for special defense and special attacks is huge, especially for Latios and Latias, Pokémon with already high sp. def and sp. atk levels.

The HP depletion is a small sacrifice for how nice this item is. The boost to all moves, physical or special, is nice for those whose offenses aren't that great, and just powers up those with already powerful offenses.

A close second is Leftovers, obviously for their healing capability.

In my opinion, the full restore is the most useful since it not only heals your Pokémon's HP fully, it also heals the status ailment! It's super handy especially when something gets a crit Thunderbolt that paralyzes... (this actually happened to me  ). So yup.

Leftovers has always been a really cool item. What else can I say, the HP recovery is awesome! Now that I think about it, in almost all the teams I made, at least 2 Pokémon are carrying one. :3

I have to go with the classic Leftovers on this one. I mean, literally anyone benefits from it, no matter what Pokémon it is! If you have a team member without an item, just give it Leftovers, because why not?

Going by held items, I'd have to say Leftovers because hey, who doesn't like free HP restoration per turn? I also really like the Life Orb, especially when coupled with Sheer Force or Magic Guard (since the Pokémon with either Ability won't lose HP but still get the boosts). As for non-held items, MooMoo Milk. Two of them are slightly cheaper than one Hyper Potion and restore the same amount of HP, and they're sold fairly early in-game nowadays, which I like. Super Repels are also good if you don't want to encounter Pokémon; Max Repels are a slight ripoff. (Â¥200 more for an extra 50 steps; compare to a Â¥150 difference between Repels and Super Repels, which have a difference of 100 steps.)

I have to say leftovers. Its awesome for stalls and great for really anything. Though it does take up a space that you could use for more power or defensive abilities, the health restoration can be pretty vital.

Leftovers is great...I do really like the assault vest and Choice Scarf too though. In a non-competitive stance, the oval charm is really neat and useful. O-powers are incredibly useful if they even count as an item...

This little thing works miracles. Healing items are amazing without a doubt but there's nothing better than being able to repel wild Pokémon to avoid constant fights, especially in games like D/P/Pt where I was going through grass or caves 24/7. What do you expect? I love me some peace and quiet. ;P

In PMD I can't count how often I've used stun orbs. Those made the myriads of difficult fights so much easier to tackle.

I have to go with the lum berry. It's simple, but it is invaluable to cure those crippling status conditions.

I've always loved Leftovers as an item, it's helped out so many of my Pokémon in tough situations. Other items I like are Expert Belt and Life Orb, but I still prefer HP recovery over those items.

I like the Reviver Seed from PMD... if there's a really tough battle, you can just collect a dozen reviver seeds XD It's literally a life-saver, especially later in the game when it gets really difficult.

It's quite difficult to say, as usually the item to give a Pokémon depends on what the Pokémon is like, but for me two stand out: Leftovers and Life Orb.

They're two great competitive items. Not only are they popular choices, but they're rightfully so, as they're incredibly useful depending on the Pokémon (Like Life Orb for Pokémon ike Greninja, and Leftovers for ones like Regirock).
