Congratulations on getting the first double win for the Member of the Month! Your gaming completion has inspired myself and others to work on their back log of games for months now. Do you keep a schedule for the games you play or do you just go for what you are in the mood for? Honestly no. Just kinda do my own thing, but as of late its been slow due to life. Will probably pick up once the semester is over, but I the most I do scheduling wise is stream 1 game that I haven't finished until its done and switch to a new one after that Nice, did you start streaming mainly for solo game completion or did it start with the more popular online games? It started around 2016 or so, slightly from boredom and just wanting to get a name out there. Just play what I feel like, not really pushing to play the popular stuff unless I actually feel like sitting down to play it Now, you play games through pretty quickly but have you ever tried your hand at proper speedrunning? Yes actually. I am a former world record holder for a few categories in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, specifically its arcade modes, and am considering going back to the grind for it Ooh I don't see fighting games often for speed runs. What was your record time? The best time I achieved so far for the 3 categories was 2 minutes 1 second in the SF III+ Category, which is a throwback to the original Street Fighter III with what characters you face. I'm off from world record by 3 seconds. Off recording I had a lower time, but haven't gotten it on recording yet Wow that is an impressive time, do you get your choice of character to run with? I would imagine that would change times a lot You do. There are character specific records, but arcade mode is open season to anyone that is accessible What's your preferred character? It varies. Since I can't use my favorite across every category, but when I can I use Zeku, the high execution ninjutsu character who possible combines the SF and Strider continuities with his existence. A great choice for sure. Going to old school gaming now, have you ever attempted speed runs of older gen games? Not really. I've thought about it but anything that's N64 or older is before my time and I don't have as much knowledge or practice Competition is fierce for old school games to. Do you have any favorite speed runners? A couple come to mind. Dream, TheMexicanRunner, SummoningSalt and Arcus Going back to the completion aspect of your gaming, do you have a favorite from the ones you completed this year? Hmmm....Just one favorite is tricky, so I'll name a few. Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Resident Evil Remake, Madworld, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX and Samurai Shodown Some great classics in there. Do you just go for finishing a game or do you like trying to 100% some of them? I'll 100% if I feel I won' be wasting my time with it. Some of the shorter games I push to complete because it doesn't add up too much, but something like Final Fantasy X which was done this year I passed up the myriad of optional side quests because they alone could add another 60 hours Oh for sure, RPGs in general tend to take ages. I lost so much time on Blitzball alone in FFX I can imagine it being too much of a time sink. What do you recall being your first game that you were determined to 100%? Like, original original? Either Super Smash Bros. Melee because we wanted o unlock all the characters and clear event mode and such, or Super Monkey Ball 2. Due to sheer difficulty/just one more try addicting nature of it, which was what led me to discover secret levels. Within secret levels. Within secret levels. Oh man, I never had the patience for Super Monkey Ball, mad respect for that. On your stream do you ever take game suggestions/requests from viewers? SMB2 is easier for that front because once you unlock all the minigames, your additional points in single player can be used to buy additional lives for each playthrough of challenge mode, capping at 99. And since the only way to unlock the secret stages is finish without using a continue, it dissolved ito a war of Attrition. Not usually, but both streams I do each week are different. Wednesday I play whatever game I want that I've already played before, until we finish it. Thursday is different though in that I leave a vote in my discord server for people to vote from a selection of games across multiple consoles, and whatever wins is what we play next. Thats how we got to Super Paper Mario, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and currently Twilight Princess HD Ah very cool, I like seeing viewer involvement on streams. Outside of gaming do you have any other hobbies? Not too much but a few things. Creative Writing is one and as of late I have gotten back into biking periodically Always good to try to keep in shape, especially with this bonkers year. Do you live somewhere where it gets snowy? If so do you plan on trying your had at snow biking? Nope. I live in central, southern US. snow doesn't exist here, except maybe once every five years or so. Its more mountain biking, which I have done a little bit of Oh very nice then, you are all set to keep going through the winter. Are there any hobbies you would like to pick up in the future? Hmm....Possibly art, that would be nice. Am also taking guitar lessons to relearn, but need to restring it Always tricky to get back into the habit of practice, especially for instruments. Best of luck with that. Speaking of hobbies, what initially brought you to Pokémon? Started with Crystal version back in the day when it first came out, alongside a cousin giving me his copy of Red and Yellow I think that covers pretty much everything I had to ask you for now. Thank you for your time in answering these and I hope everything goes well with your streaming/gaming especially. If you want you can post up the links to your projects and things you would like to promote Sure. I got a couple links I suppose, my Twitch and Youtube and a Collab channel I created about 6 years ago with friends where we race games https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7w3od361z9NHUIYFMInbfw?view_as=subscriber https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaXcgo7gCcGw1H8JqS3eljQ?view_as=subscriber https://www.twitch.tv/subzero7__
