We all have those moves that we love to bring into battle.

But how about the opposite? Is there a move that you'd NEVER use?

What you choose should not include beginner tier moves (I.E.: Scratch, Tackle, etc) or moves that are not effective (I.E.: Splash, Teleport)

I'd never use Bide in Competitive Play. Though it does send out a huge punch if the Pokémon is attacked, it takes too long to charge and gives the opponent an advantage... allowing them to set up pretty much anything. Swords Dance, Spikes, Free Switches, etc. And, not to mention, if it's not hurt during the time Bide is charging, then the move itself will not do any damage to the opponent. It's simply too risky and the reward is minimum if your opponent is smart.

I've sadly seen this before, people using 1 tier moves in battle. But I really can't stand anyone trying to use Growl in a competitive battle. Just stop. Use the ability intimidate or something, but not growl.

I have fought against somebody in competitive who used False Swipe on me. I wish I was joking.

Why would you even have that on a competitive Pokémon? It makes no sense!

I would personally never use moves like Memento or Healing Wish that make the user faint. Healing Wish at least has benefits to you, but sacrificing a Pokémon for it seems like too much. Memento just makes no sense to me. I can just switch out and the loss of that Pokémon will mean nothing. Sure it forces me to switch Pokémon, but honestly, there are far better ways of doing that.

I would also never use moves like Hyper Beam and Rock Wrecker. Sure they're powerful, but that turn of waiting after they are used can be used by the opponent to either set up or just knock you out of the park.

I'd never use fire punch or thunder punch. They never appear as STAB moves and they just can't do enough damage. Fire punch would be great on ferrothorn... except the iron barbs/possible rocky helmet. Ice punch has value with all the dragon/flying people you see, but the other punches don't find those x4 type advantages.

I'd personally never use present. After all, it can not only damage the foe Pokémon, but also heal it! Going along with that, I'd never use Heal Pulse either. I mean it heals the opponent's HP incredibly. Not very useful if you ask me!

Hold hands. Why would you ever use or need this move? That's gotta be the number 1.

Fitting with what @[member="Achromatic"] said, Happy Hour and Celebrate.
Why do these moves even exist? Happy Hour just gets you more money, but you have to waste a turn in the process. If you really want more money from battles, just use an Amulet Coin or at least Pay Day, so you can do damage.
And I don't even know what Celebrate does. I bet you this is why we didn't get Mega Milotic...

Fell Stinger, Powder, Silver Wind, Struggle Bug, Beat Up (unless used in double battle gimmick fashion), Embargo, Fake Tears, Feint Attack, Fling (some people use it, but I see very little use in it), Memento, Quash, Snatch, Topsy-Turvy, Twister, Charge, Eerie Impulse, Electrify, Electric Terrain, Ion Deluge, Magnet Rise, Magnetic Flux, Shock Wave, Spark, Zap Cannon, Aromatic Mist, Baby-Doll Eyes, Charm, Disarming Voice, Fairy Lock, Misty Terrain, Sweet Kiss, Arm Thrust, Double Kick, Force Palm, Rolling Kick, Submission, Triple Kick, Vital Throw, Wake-Up Slap, Blast Burn, Fire Spin, Flame Burst, Flame Wheel, Heat Crash, Incinerate, Inferno, Magma Storm, Searing Shot, Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Bounce, Chatter, Feather Dance, Fly, Mirror Move, Pluck, Sky Attack, Sky Drop, Wing Attack, Grudge, Hex, Nightmare, Ominous Wind, Spite, Trick-or-Treat, Cotton Spore, Forest's Curse, Frenzy Plant, Grass Whistle, Grassy Terrain, Ingrain, Leaf Tornado, Needle Arm, Petal Blizzard, Worry Seed, Bone Club, Bone Rush, Dig, Magnitude, Mud Bomb, Mud Shot, Mud Sport, Mud-Slap, Rototiller, Sand Tomb, Aurora Beam, Freeze Shock, Ice Ball, Ice Burn, Mist, Acupressure, After You, Assist, Bestow, Bide, Block, Camouflage, Captivate, Chip Away, Confide, Conversion, Conversion 2, Copycat, Covet, Crush Claw, Crush Grip, Dizzy Punch, Double Hit, Echoed Voice, Egg Bomb, Feint, Flail, Foresight, Giga Impact, Horn Attack, Howl, Hyper Beam, Hyper Fang, Last Resort, Lock-On, Lucky Chant, Me First, Mean Look, Mega Kick, Mega Punch, Metronome, Mimic, Mind Reader, Natural Gift, Nature Power, Noble Roar, Odor Sleuth, Play Nice, Psych Up, Rage, Razor Wind, Reflect Type, Refresh, Round, Safeguard, Scary Face, Screech, Secret Power, Self-Destruct (because there's Explosion), Sharpen, Simple Beam, Sing, Skull Bash, Slam, Slash, Smelling Salts, Smokescreen, Snore, Sonic Boom, Spit Up, Stomp, Supersonic, Swallow, Sweet Scent, Swift, Take Down, Thrash, Tickle, Trump Card, Uproar, Vice Grip, Wring Out, Acid Spray, Cross Poison, Poison Fang, Poison Gas, Poison Powder, Poison Tail, Sludge, Venom Drench, Venoshock, Ally Switch, Dream Eater, Future Sight, Gravity, Guard Split, Guard Swap, Heal Block, Heal Pulse, Healing Wish, Heart Stamp, Heart Swap, Imprison, Kinesis, Lunar Dance, Luster Purge, Magic Room, Meditate, Miracle Eye, Mist Ball, Power Trick, Psybeam, Psycho Boost, Psywave, Synchronize, Telekinesis, Wonder Room, Ancient Power, Rock Wrecker, Rollout, Smack Down, Doom Desire, Heavy Slam, Iron Tail, Magnet Bomb, Metal Burst, Metal Sound, Mirror Shot, Steel Wing, Aqua Ring, Bubble Beam, Clamp, Dive, Hydro Cannon, Octazooka, Soak, Water Pulse, Water Shuriken, Water Sport, Whirlpool

    That list though....
Which one from that list would you say is definitely the least one you'd use out of them, and why?

Water Sport and Mud Sport out of the moves that actually do stuff. These two moves are pretty dang worthless and I don't ever see myself using them even ingame.

I would never use focus punch. Its a waste of a turn and ghost type and protect blocks it making the opponent just get a free switch / attack. Also focus blast. I would call that, "focus miss."

    Status: Mud and Water Sport
Damage: Any two turn moves (Dig, Fly, Bounce, Dive etc.)

By using moves like those, you're giving your opponent the perfect opportunity to switch out. Additionally, Protect/Detect perfectly counter moves like that.

Overall least likely used move: Mud Sport. Most Pokémon who learn this are Ground (or part Ground) who are already immune to Electric attacks. It's not even worth while in Double or Triple battles either.

Almost anything that requires weight and speed (Gyro ball, Heavy Slam, etc.) I don't mind these moves reliable at all. Even if the Pokémon is heavy or fast I still don't find them to be all that powerful...

Pretty much any move with a really low accuracy, such as Hurricane and Focus Blast. They will always miss when you really need the hit, seriously. I'd much rather settle for a slightly less powerful, yet much more reliable move. Then again, I'm not good at competitive playing anyway, so yeah :P

I'd have to say the moves I would absolutely never use on a truly competitive setting are Splash and Holding Hands. They're literally the most useless moves in the game, so I would only use them as a joke in battle XD

I'm not really a fan of two-turn moves, since that one turn of vulnerability can cost you the match. Although a herb can make up for this, it can only do it once. Razor Wind for example, is probably one of the worst. Though there are some two turn moves like Shadow Force that are really good, since it protects you in the turn you have to set up on. I just don't like how after you set up, your opponent gets a free switch in, stat boost, or other step ahead of you in the one turn you have to wait for.

You're so right about this. I agree 100%. Sometimes the damage is definitely not worth the set up, especially going against a good opponent. I have to say though there is only one exception: Solar Beam. So great with Sunny Day teams. <3
