"Got different people inside my head, I wonder which one that they like best...?"

Do you think it's possible to have multiple personalities, aside from the mental disorder? Do you act differently on any given day, hold a person inside you for certain times and places?

As for me, I personally think people certainly can act out of character. They can do things, have prolonged times when they don't act like themselves. But I don't necessarily think they're a different person. The way I see people, is that we're fragmented. We have a different set of rules, principles, moralities, etc., for different phases, different situations in our lives. And sometimes, things overlap.

What do you think? How many people live in a person's head?

I somewhat have different personalities, but I think it's within normal, honest bounds. I have a relaxed self, a professional self, a romantic self. I'm still the same person, but my word choice and maybe even my voice might change in the situation. I'm not lying to anyone, I'm just acting appropriately in differing circumstances.

I think if you have more than one actual identity, you might have some psychological situation going on, but humans can totally behave differently in differently situations, and there's nothing wrong with that.

A human's imagination is capable of doing the most amazing things. Because of that, I believe multiple personalities can exist within one person. I only know of examples of people who have developed multiple personalities because they have some kind of mental disorder or have been through some very bad situations in their life though. I don't believe I have any people with multiple personalities close to me.

I know for sure people can have multiple personalities without it being caused by a personality disorder. I built my own personalities for different uses. I flesh out each separate personality much like a writer would make a character, and then I act it out like a method actor. I've got four personalities that I use and swap between constantly, and over a dozen that I use in different scenarios as needed. I could make more if I felt like I needed them. It's a matter of recognizing that personalities and people are not static items. They change like clothes. All I do for my mental process of changing identity is imagining myself putting on the new clothes I've determined for each mental representation of my personalities. It takes practice, but I can now switch personalities in a matter of seconds. It's the most important skill I think I've ever learned.

I think a lot of people behave differently in different situations but I wouldn't call it personalities, I'd just call it adaptation. Like I wouldn't behave the same at work as I would home and such.

For me it's basically this. I don't really have much to add, except that building a new personality is very difficult and not always very successful, but switching to one you've already made is quite easy. I've made so many alternate personalities for myself. Most of them are dead, but I think two of them are still around.
I think the "real me" died some time ago.

In my opinion, unless people have a legitimate personality disorder, I think everybody has the same personality everywhere, because a personality defines who you are, it's just the fact that sometimes people act differently around other people, and that may just be a part of their personality. So no, I do not think that outside of a disorder you can have multiple personalities. People react to different things differently, thus that is a part of who we are, it doesn't quite dictate another personality. People will have mood changes, for sure, and they will act differently depending on what happens to them, but in the end we are all who we are, even if we choose to mask that in public.

I think it is possible to have multiple personalities. You know how if someone gets really mad or something and it's supposedly like 'a side of them you've never seen before' or 'a whole different side of them'? I think you get different personalities depending on the people and circumstances around. For example, when I around people I don't know, I super shy and I won't say a word unless someone talks to me first, but if I'm around my friends, I'm super chatty and lively and the most random person you'll ever meet. Whenever I mad at someone, I go from shy and quiet to bold, smartass, and sometimes even violent. You do have different personalities, which one you show at what time depends on who you're around and the circumstances at that moment.
