My high school was the site of tragedy today.

Marysville Pilchuck High School, the school where I graduated from in 2006, where two of my cousins and former daycare child now attend, has been the site of a school shooting. My cousins are fine, and so is my former daycare child. This shooting occurred because the shooter couldn't deal with his friend stealing his girlfriend. I'm in a state of shock.

I feel that this child was a trophy for participation child. He never learned to deal with disappointment. I bet this was his first big disappointment and he simply couldn't deal. Trophies for simply showing up and participating is plain stupid. You don't see it happening in sports today. Take the superbowl for example. Only the winning team gets rings, not any other team.

BTW, back when I was in high school, we had just gotten Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

...This school was about an hour from where I went to school when I lived in America. I though that Washington was actually a decent place and people weren't so petty that they'd go on a shooting rampage at a school. I guess I was wrong... I went to Chinook Middle School in Bellevue, my sister went to Clyde Hill Elementary (which was practically next door). This actually scares me a huge deal, and one of my old friends who I went to school with, I think lived in Everett which is even closer.

While I miss living in America for a few reasons, these make me love the fact that I live in Australia, a country with laws about firearms. I'm not dissing America here, but I feel a lot safer being in a country where people aren't allowed to keep guns in their house which they can take out if they've had a bad day. I do wish that we got snow down here though...

I heard about this, while I was in school today. I found an excuse to leave class just so I could read on what was going on. It's really a tragedy, what happened. I was shocked. You could tell, as the news circulated, that some of the students were a bit on edge, for the rest of the day. It really had an effect. And we're all the way down in Texas. I just wish it didn't have to happen at all. From what I heard, unless something changed, there was only one fatality. And although it's never good to hear that someone lost their life, I'm just thankful it wasn't a repeat of Columbine or Newtown.

It brought back some painful memories of the school shooting I survived. So far, two are dead. One is the gunman, the other one of five victims. It was a bit worse then what I survived, which was two dead and two wounded, myself one of the wounded, a clip to the shoulder, one bullet.
