Imari Mizutani (Mizutani Imari; 伊万里水谷) Imari is a fifteen-year-old girl who lives beside her childhood friend and neighbour, Red Ketchum. Her home life is generally pretty good. She lives with her father, Yuki, who is Professor Oak’s head Aide. They have a nice father-daughter relationship going on, but don’t speak of the incident where Imari’s mother walked out on them, after being booted from the Champion’s position and forming an evil team. As such, Karin can no longer support herself legally. Her goal is to train the Pokémon she calls her family and stop evil spreading throughout Kanto. The reason behind why she’s training her team is so she can protect the people she loves and their families so that no one has to suffer. She has shoulder-length cobalt blue hair and amber eyes which are full of life. Imari wears a sleeveless grey tank top and a red skirt. Her footwear is a pair of red slip on shoes. Imari is an overly friendly, innocent girl who makes Red feel awkward. Her naivety will land her in trouble from people who want to take advantage of her, not to mention most people don’t like clingy behaviour and will feel uncomfortable around Imari. However, she is adventurous and reliable, often helping Red with battles if she thinks he needs it. She is also observant, but can be picky about chores. Voice: Imari has the voice of Mami (PMMM/English) and Krulcifer (Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut/Japanese) Imari’s Current Pokémon: Dratini: Imari’s best friend and starter. Imari met Dratini when Professor Oak mistakenly requested a shipment of Dragon types as starter Pokémon. While most Dragons grudgingly give their loyalty, Dratini was an inquisitive member of her species, escaping the Poké Ball that had confined her and began searching the lab. Imari had been about to choose an official starter when she caught sight of the little Dragon. Dratini took an instant liking to Imari, creating a ‘sisterly’ bond between them. Dratini helped Imari in some of her Gym battles and against rogue agents who appeared in Viridian. Her bond with Imari will make her the strongest on Imari’s team, caring for her a great deal and disliking it when Imari gets hurt. Championship's Road (as yet unposted) Masaru Tsuda (Tsuda Masaru; 勝津田) Masaru is a fifteen-year-old boy who lives in Twinleaf Town with his neighbour, Dawn Berlitz. He aims to compete in Sinnoh’s Lily of the Valley Tournament and become the new Champion. He is blind in his left eye due to losing his sight from a Zangoose attack. He survived due to the Zangoose becoming bored. His hair is a spiky red and he has piercing green eyes. Masaru’s clothing consists of a sleeveless purple shirt, dark blue denim jeans, black sandshoes and a grey vest. Masaru is a pessimist, who seeks peace and quiet and attempts to get Dawn to shut up 24/7. During his adventure, he grows to be a caring person. He develops a rivalry with Paul due to a mutual admiration of his battling prowess and hopes they will better each other with every battle. He has a phobia of Electric types. He also becomes the target of his enemies, like Hunter J and Team Galactic for unknown reasons. Masaru is on a journey not just to attend the Sinnoh League, but to find his older sister, Sayuri Tsuda, who went missing two years ago. His parents’ whereabouts are unknown. Voice: Masaru has the same voice as Shino (Naruto/English) and Shinjiro (Persona 3/Japanese). Masaru’s Current Pokémon: Riolu: Riolu is Masaru’s #1 partner. Masaru is like an older brother to him. Ever since the Twinleaf boy saved him from dying of thirst and by giving him food and water, Riolu had never felt loved like this before. He lives with Masaru and is officially registered as his starter when Masaru and Dawn travel to Professor Rowan’s lab. Riolu never gives up and is a sweet and kind Pokémon. Riolu is also afraid of Dark types.
