Mystery Souvenir!

Perhaps this is some sort of Easter Egg for generation 7. I don't know for sure since I'm not GameFreak, but I don't think this has to do with Gen. 6.

 

After etensive reasearch the strange souenir mentions that the souvenir is a Pokémon ventreied by the people as thier protecter so by looking at the offical page of the Pokémon site about honnen the legend continues it is mentioned rayquaza is ventried by the people as thier protector this was quoted from the page so the souvnier does have something to do with rayquza and since the backpacker is a travler maybe he picked it up while he was in honnen and lied? or maybe while he was in honnen he ent to a speprat island like the sevi islands as they are mentioned as comletely diffrent region and it was made as a brain teaser for those who forgot the islands maybe it was a stautue scuplted by one of the people because the hiker couldnt have got it from honneon because rayquza isnt in honen hes in the ozone layer so that might be the soultion

 

This item was really mysterious! I still wonder what it means...it's clearly a reference to a future Pokémon game though, and that excites me a lot!

He never mentioned anything about Orre.. Hmm.
In all seriousness though, it likely does have something to do with Gen VII. We still don't quite know that other region Kalos "went to war with". We know already one of them was Hoenn (because remakes), it's just a matter of time before we find out what the other region was.
