Okay, so this is a trend that I've seen people do, and I confirmed a week ago that it's not just an anime thing.

So, what do you instrumentalists out there think about naming your instruments? Do you do it to make you feel more attached to your instrument? Or do you think that the idea is extremely weird.

Personally I think that naming instruments is extremely weird. I think that the people who do it are very, very strange. My music class if you knew them would really prove that. The main thing as well it that i am attaching it to animes and then the really weird people in my music class do it... yea...

I don't name my instruments. I just call them what they are: my piano, my guitar, etc. I don't think it's weird, I just don't see any reason to name them.

Haha I see no harm in it. It's like naming your car or something. It's just a fun little concept and gives your instrument "personality"! :3

I've never been too big on naming inanimate objects, and instruments are no exception. It's just a little strange to me to be that emotionally attached to an instrument, especially when it will be that much harder to let go in case it breaks.

In school band we used to have a tenor sax called: Agile-Fragile-Frag

It came from the dilapidated fragile sticker on the case.
