Article Nationals at Nine

A nine-year-old boy will be attending the National Pokémon TCG Tournament in July. The boy in question, Malachi Fox of Minnesota, is among the top players in the United States, despite his young age. There are certainly some competitors much older than himself, but Malachi's rise to the top has been quick. Typically rather shy, Fox shows his true colors when he's playing, opening up and being a fun presence among the older competitors. Fox's parents say they just decided they'd let him give it a shot, being Pokémon players themselves. After they realized how good he was, it all went uphill. When it comes to Fox, though, it's clear his goals are much higher than Nationals. Fox sets his goals to going as far as the World Tournament, and he's going for the gold when his time to shine comes.
