A maid entered and sighed, "You don't need to shout every single time. I'm always here," handing the woman a cup of tea and asking, "What do you want this time?"
The woman takes a sip of the tea as soon as her handmaiden appears in heed of the summons. She pretends not to hear Emma's backtalk. Once she finishes drinking, she answers, "Change of plans, dear. Have the minions attack tonight. We can't leave ourselves too predictable to these simpletons, can we?"
The woman let out a sigh and said, "Well, we're only able to send out the wolf again. Unfortunately, the portal's still too weak for us to send more than one creature at a time after you overloaded it with that last village."
The woman exhales irritably. "It's always something with those finicky portals, isn't it..." She puts the empty tea cup back on the tray and sits back against the throne with her legs crossed. "Very well. My pet is strong enough as he is. Make sure he goes straight for the residential areas this time, as he's already eaten his fill of their livestock last night."
Emma nodded and replied, "Yes, your majesty," when a small demonic creature with no mouth entered the area and started giving the queen a foot massage.
She waves Emma away, turning her attention back to the mirror. The town appeared to be fortifying themselves for the night, nailing wooden boards up on their windows and grabbing whatever provisions they had and bringing them inside. The sun was beginning to set. She smirked. "This ought to be fun to watch." (OOC: you can change the scene from here, if you want.)
During this time, Neil was packing up to exit the vicinity, all against his will as his father said, "Make sure you only pack the essentials. Anything else will just slow you down," Neil sighing, "Easy for you to say."
Meanwhile, Annie was doing the same at her house, which was only a few doors down from Neil's. She was packing up a lot of... unusual things. A bagful of hay, a dozen packs each of mackerel and chicken thighs, and a ton of blankets and old stuffed animals. She was attempting to pack it all up in secret, before her mother came into her room. Annie quickly closed the bag as the door clicked open, which was difficult since it was packed near to bursting. Her mother raised an eyebrow questioningly. "...Annabel, are you sure you can carry all of that? We won't be returning home for some time." Annie did not hesitate to nod. "Y-yes, mother. Nothing but the essentials, just like you said!" "...Alright, sweetie. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Finally, the mother left the room. And with that, Annie unlocks the window of her room, sneaking out with a load of supplies on her back. She goes straight to Neil's house and looks in through his bedroom window.
Neil nodded and replied, "Right," before heading out the door, his folks awaiting him. Now he and Annie just needed a moment to sneak away.
This isn't good. If his parents are just outside his room waiting for him to finish, sneaking out without getting noticed will prove difficult. "Neil," she whispered. "Just come up with an excuse and climb out the window. I'll try to cause a distraction."
Neil blinked and gasped, "Oh no, a snake!" leaping out the window as his parents entered, searching for the snake as his mother said, "Go ahead without us. We'll catch up."
"D-don't worry," Annie tells his parents. "Neil can stay at my house tonight. We'll be fine!" And then they fled before they could get another word in, all the way past Annie's house and straight back to the stone statue. "We're... We're back," Annie puffed.
"Your timing is most unfortunate," Kabu replied, "The dragon escaped," Neil retorting, "WHAT!?" racing into the cellar to see that, sure enough, the dragon had left. He then barked, "Wait a minute, can't you control when this door opens and closes!?" Kabu replying, "Yes," as Neil narrowed his eyelids and realized he would not get more than that. And this was especially bad seeing as the wolf had just been sent into the town. Many people fled for their lives while he howled and shot fire all around the area, setting many houses ablaze.
"You've come again, foul demon?" Oswell is already on the scene, broadsword at the ready. "Come at me then! We finish this!" His plan seemed to be attempting to distract the beast while everyone else tries to escape.
The wolf's eyes widened as, strangely enough, he actually remembered the knight. With that, he growled and lunged at him, claws at the ready.
Oswell blocks the attack with his weapon. The beast's claws caught the block, but it was still barring its fangs and snarling viciously, spitting out infernal embers. He then attempts to throw the monster off of him with a heavy spin attack.
The wolf leapt away, but not before singing him with a flame. But just as things were about to become more intense, the dragon leapt into town and stared at the wolf, his eyes wide with terror. Strangely enough, the wolf was now distracted by the baby, so much so that it seemed to be more focused on killing him than Oswell.
Despite being singed again, he could still faintly see what was going on. Although the... smaller creature was a surprise to see, Oswell took the opportunity to press his advantage against the beast. He rushed forward, flanking the large monster with a downward strike.
