'Fenn' the Fennekin said before turning its eyes towards Sylvia. "I am your new owner, Fennekin. Come here." Sylvia said and put her hands forward towards Fennekin.
Fennekin stared at Sylvia before smiling and jumping in her arms. Sylvia got happy and hugged the little yellow thing tightly. Neil said, "I haven't touched a Fennekin before, can I just pat its head?" Sylvia replied, "Ofcourse, why not?" Sylvia handed her Fennekin to Neil and Neil moved his hands in the little's yellow fur. "So fluffy." He complimented.
Neil smiled before being brought to an area with a wide assortment of Pokeballs. As it so happened, Sylvia's uncle had a single starter from each region, and as the boy looked over them, he noticed one with a water droplet on it and what looked like party decorations. He opened it up and sure enough, a Popplio emerged as she looked up at him, her eyes sparkling as the boy bit his lower lip and smiled, giving her a hug and shouting, "You're perfect!"
The Popplio smiled and hugged Neil back. "That's yours, Neil." The professor said and handed Neil his pokeballs and Pokédex. Same to Sylvia.
Neil blinked as the man said, "Now, keep in mind you can only add two more Pokémon to your team during your travels, so I would recommend thinking really hard about your team," Neil thinking, 'Darn, that's not a lot. I was hoping for much more options than that, but I guess it can't be helped."
Sylvia sighed in sadness but after a second she jumped in happiness. "We can only add two more Pokémon, right? That doesn't mean we can't catch more than two." Neil and the professor stared at Sylvia. Sylvia said, "We'll catch as many Pokémon as we want and then, transfer those Pokémon we don't need at that time to you, uncle, through specific Pokémon centres we reach during our journey. We'll keep only two Pokémon with us. What do you think, Neil?" Sylvia looked at Neil.
Neil blinked and replied, "Well, that is an interesting idea. Yeah, we can do that," the professor replying, "Good. That's all settled, then. Anyway, good luck on your journey."
Neil and Sylvia jumped in happiness and later called their Pokémon inside their pokeballs. Sylvia and Neil waved bye to the professor before exiting the lab. "So, I guess we'll have to say bye now, eh?" Neil asked to Sylvia. Sylvia nodded and shook hands with Neil before parting ways. Neil sighed and moved ahead on his road. It was just five minutes later that Sylvia came running to him and said, "I-if you don't mind, c-can we travel to-together?" Neil found Sylvia blushing.
Neil blinked and said, "Well, I don't see why not. Honestly, I'm not even completely sure where to start my journey."
@nduns, where do you think Neil and Sylvia should travel? Which region? I'm also confused how long this story will be. I think, travelling in one region would make this story pretty long. What do you think? If you ask me, I'd prefer travelling in Kalos.
I was just gonna have them stick to a single region that’s like a mix of all seven simply in terms of Pokémon variety.

Okay. About the towns, I'd recommend 4. Cherry town, nduns town, you are to decide the rest 2 towns' name.

Sylvia got happy and said, "I was thinking to travel to Cherry town first to win the Honey badge." Sylvia replied. Spoiler: Honey badge
