It was the first day of the new school year as Neil awoke bright and early, rushing to get ready. He was possibly the only student who still cared about passing. Everyone else had lost all hope at this point, especially since most of the teachers were not particularly supportive.
Meanwhile, Gwendolyn was only just getting up with the careful persuasion of Drew. "Wake up Gwenyth. You have school today," he warned. Gwen pulled the tuft of blue hair off her face and glared at him before standing up and looking in his eyes. "What?" "Drew you may have taken me and Damien in. But that doesn't change the fact I'm not the brightest," she responded as she walked over to the table where Damien was eating quietly.
Izy, meanwhile, got ready and thought, 'Yeah, I'm gonna make this school great, just like it used to be back when my brother went there.' And soon enough, everyone was ready to head off, each with their own personal agenda.
As Gwendolyn and Damien arrived at school, Gwen picked off a flower from the school tree. "Another year another year," she mused.
Neil sprinted by, suddenly running into her and falling down with her. As he pushed himself up, her looked deep into her eyes, staring silently.
Gwendolyn slowly stood up and noticed Damien waiting. "Excuse me," she responded finally as she walked inside.
Neil stared silently before uttering, "Oh, right," gathering his things and quickly sprinting inside, taking a deep breath. That had been awkward.
Izy took a seat and looked over the students, the teacher sighing, "Welcome to grade 10. I'm Mr. Fezzik. Honestly, I can't believe you all made it this far. I take one look at all of you and I can see in your eyes that none of you are prepared for what high school has to offer. Hell, I bet 90 percent of you won't even make it to college, but I can still try to teach you. That way, I still get paid whether you fail or not," Neil blinking and thinking, 'Wow, what a buzzkill.'
Gwendolyn sat there quietly and wished Damien were there with her but she knew it was futile. He was older than her by 2 years so she had to watch him graduate
Most of the other students looked like they really did not wish to be here as the teacher continued the lecture, Izy glaring at him. She would change the attitude of her classmates for sure, and she had a plan.
Gwendolyn just mindlessly picked up her water bottle and her water pistol that she hid in her bag and filled it before shooting her teacher in the face. She knew like Izy that the attitude sucked.
The teacher stared silently and growled, "You, principal's office, right now!" Izy smirking before letting loose a bottle rocket into the window, the teacher adding, "And you can go as well!" the girl pretending to feel disappointed as she whined, "Oh no! My perfect record already soiled!" winking at Gwen and heading off while Neil stared in stunned silence, not realizing Izy at least had meant to get in trouble.
Gwendolyn nodded and grabbed her bigger one first and absolutely soaked him. "Now I'll go cause like your attitude, now your a big drip." She walked out and smiled at Izy. "Nice bottle rocket."
Izy grinned and added, "The water gun was a nice touch, too," looking around at all the classrooms full of students who either did not care or had just given up. Some even looked ready to kill themselves as the girl sighed, "Look at what they've done to our student body."
"I'm used to it. I mean I don't like it. I miss te days where everyone was happy. Now some of us are doped up on anti-depressants and others are ready to surrender. When I say doped up I mean that. I used to be like them until back there. Loaded with anti-depressants. But it doesn't help. Just makes it worse. Its like you're on replay. Never ending," she admitted.
Izy looked deep in thought before she grinned and said, "You know what? I like you," placing her hand firmly on her shoulder, "Name's Elizabeth, but I'd much rather you call me Izy. Call me by my real name and you die," the girl pulling out what looked like a switchblade before revealing a screwdriver inside of it.
"Names Gwendolyn. But please keep it to Gwen or whatever you want to call me. Oh and Izy, the death threat applies to you calling me Gwendolyn," she responded. She noticed her uncle was outside the principals' office and groaned. "By the way, we are in for a lecture. Forgot to warn you. My uncle works here," she sighed.
