New Evolution Methods?

Here's some evolution method I'd like to see:

- Fusion. This one is really tricky, as they used it already for Kyurem, but it would be awesome if we could fuse more Pokémon (imagine a Wurple-size Gyarados, PURE AWESOMENESS). [Example]
- Combination. I know fusion would be really hard to do, but combination would be a really good addition, like how Magneton, Dugtrio, and even Slowbro are evolved in the anime. [Example]
- Mutation. This one could also be called as "fake evolution", as it's still the same Pokémon but with very good stats and a bit different looking. They are stronger than their pre-evolution version, and can be breeded. [Example]

 

I can't think of other evolution methods... by trading? well, that sucks, by giving them items? okay, by leveling up? okay. By breeding? Seems interesting, by winning battles maybe 50 times in a row? a little bit challenging eh...

 

I can live with it as is right now. Some by stone, trade, level, happiness. I'm pretty content with it

 

I don't much like the idea of having to trade to evolve, it just makes it hard (or impossible) for those who are either playing roms, or have no one to connect with. Plus, when you do trade you often aren't going to get it back, so you won't end up with the evolution you were looking for, It sucks. So without cheats they made it nearly impossible for someone to fill up the entire Dex.

 

I'd like to see more options for the ones that need to be traded, such as creating a place in-game where if the Pokémon are leveled within the area and/or holding an item they will evolve without needing to be traded, or perhaps an in-game NPC you can trade and trade back with that allows you to get them. I don't have wifi, a second DS or know anybody in real life who even likes Pokémon, and sometimes not being able to get a number of Pokémon at all no matter what discourages me from even wanting to play in the first place.

 

They should add the Fighting Stone and make all fire types be able to evolve through it into a Fire/Fighting Pokémon.

 

yeah i agree with the trading evolutions, there's just too many and it seems like a lot of people don't have the means to evolve that way. so many time i've wanted a alakazam or gengar on my team but i can't TT that's the only thing i'd want though, a better way to get those trade evolves, otherwise there's already too many ways to evolve in the first place imo x.x

 

Why not the Bidoof Stone? That'd be fun. Woo hoo.

I hate trading for Pokémon evolutions. It's unreliable unless you have 2 systems and games OR really trustworthy reliable friends who will give your Pokémon back. Maybe there could be a special dungeon, called maybe the Tomb of Change. To evolve a specific Pokémon, you need to take it through the Tomb alone. When you reach the end, it would be powerful and courageous enough to evolve. Good for a Fighting type or even Light if they add that.

 

Like an alternate to trading for those who can't..namely me, who can only play roms.

 

Maybe you could evolve something through them getting a specific number of EVs or something.

I'd like to see more Shedninja Pokémon, ones that appear in your party if another evolves or something cool like that.

 

That's a good idea. Maybe a Pokémon that will evolve if you have specific Pokémon in your party and you level it up, sorta like getting the Regis and needing Wailord and Relicanth.

 

Espeonbird touched on what I was going to say with Shedinja. I liked how that worked, although nobody would have thought to evolve it with an open space and a spare Pokéball.

Place-specific evolutions are the latest gimmick with Eevee's 4th generation evolutions, the grass stone and the ice stone (if those are their names). EV specific evolutions are how Tyrogue evolves. You also need Remoraid in your party to evolve Mantyke, so those three are already established.

What I'd like to see are more branching evolutions like Eevee, Tyrogue, Burmy, Wurmple, Ralts, etc. It makes evolving them more fun when there are options. I'd also like to see further evolutions of combination Pokémon like Magneton, but just with a bigger lattice of Magnemites, if that doesn't sound completely uncreative.

I'd also like to see re-conceptions of existing lines, like this one.

As much as I like my Serperior, I absolutely love this one.

That would be so cool! And if you transfered an eevee and it was holding an everstone, it wouldn't evolve.

 

Haha, I remember drawing that! I doodled that back when Snivy was first released and put it on my dA account. I'm glad people still like it.

Anyway, I think adding some new evolution methods would be cool, even if it was just adding in an evolutionary stone or a place certain Pokémon go to evolve. Maybe they'll add more Pokémon that evolve after they learn a specific move (maybe specific to 6th gen?). Still, creating new methods of evolution would be neat.

Anyway, back on track. I think it would be neat to have more branched evolutions depending on stats, similar to Tyrogue. Like have a balanced Pokémon evolve into either an Attack-based or Defense-based evolution, depending on which stats are higher. An evolution based on EVs is also possible, but probably unlikely, since it can be difficult to get a certain amount of EVs without knowing exactly what you're doing.

 

Maybe nature-based evolutions! I'm not saying a Pokémon should have a different evolution for each nature, god no, but maybe have two or three evolutions according to what nature it is.
I could see Nintendo trolling us and giving us a special attacker for Jolly and Adamant and a physical one for Timid and Modest xD

 

I think it would be cool if there were Ghost or Dark Pokémon who can only evolve if one of the Pokémon on your team is KO'd. Or they evolve by KOing a partner Pokémon in a double battle. Or there's a Ghost Pokémon that evolves by being KO'd.

Not necessarily evolutions, but I think it would be cool to see a specific Pokémon that when bred with certain other Pokémon gives new/different babies. For example, let's say Lapras gets a baby Pokémon in the 6th gen. In order to get one, you have to breed a Lapras with this special new Pokémon.
