    Hey people of LV.
    Yesterday I was invited by Bloom to join via PM on Pokémon Showdown.
    I'm an avid smogonite, so I'll be on Smogon Forums more often than here most likely (sorry).
    Anyways, I've posted around here a bit, and if I sound a little bit rude when rating your teams in RMT (which I have done twice already, and they were both pretty long posts lol), don't take it the wrong way.
    I am a huge competitive Pokémon player, so I'm pretty much doing it to help you.
    I rate teams on Smogon, and I am the creator of the RMT (Rate My Team) room on Showdown (now Competitive Tutoring). I've been staff of the tournaments room, and am auth in a few other rooms, so I know the competitive scene well. I mostly play lower tier stuff like LC and PU (PU is a smogon tier, not a PO tier), however I still play each tier including OU, which I still play frequently.

    Anyways, I just am learning these forums and the community looks really nice and friendly, it is just a lot to learn before I am able to freely move around the forums. Stuff like Pokémon claiming really confuses me, as 1. what is that and 2. I want to claim my favorites before they are gone ;_;. Also trying to reach reqs to send in an application as a Mentor and also just to use the Shoutbox.

    So yeah, hi, that's kinda an overview of me involved in Pokémon. I hope I get to learn more about LV and become friends with most/all of you. :]

    Hello! Welcome to Lake Valor! We're a pretty community so if you ever need help, don't be afraid to ask a mentor or staff member! Don't sweat too much about the claiming Pokémon, but I would recommend getting to 15 posts just to use the shoutbox since it lets you connect to many other members.     Thanks. Yeah, I really just want to use the shoutbox haha. They made the restriction feel like such a high amount for new users :( but it does prevent spam.

    Aha no worries, we understand that it's hard to find another home community when you're already elsewhere. But hopefully you will be checking back here often, right? The members and staff alike on Lake Valor are really amazing. We have a hefty bit of competitive battlers around here as well so all bases are pretty much covered and I'm sure you'll fit in great.     Thanks ^_^ Yeah, I use this picture as often as I can, I love the art so much :] also might I ask what PokePoints are used for and how you obtain them? I noticed when I started I had ~12 and now I have close to 100, and I don't recall doing anything special O_O

If you have any questions, feel free to ask a mentor, staff member, or any other active member and they would be more than happy to oblige. I believe you earn more pokepoints when creating a topic in the members' lobby, so that probably explains the pokepoint boost. You also earn a slight amount with each post you make and by other means on the forum, such as competing in events or winning the lottery. Anyways, I'm so glad you decided to join and I hope you enjoy your stay! ^-^
