I forget when exactly but sometime this year a placeholder image was found on the PGL website. It was labeled Lycanroc form 3. In the trailer for USUM we see a Lycanroc jumping up and into the sun. Could this be the new form?
It looked like the regular Day form. Not that I am against a new form, but it looked like a normal one to me.
I have a screenshot for that actually! I'm not really sure if there is gonna be a new Lycanroc form though, just based on this picture, because it looks ALOT like Midday Lycanroc to me. But there's a possibility that there can be a new form though.
It looked like the midday form to me, but who knows maybe we'll still get a third form we'll have to wait and see.
I'm going to argue against a new form, I'm not a huge fan of the differece between the two forms, and I can't see a third form changing it up enough. If we get one I'm sure it will be fine, but I would rather see something new.
It looks like midday to me as well but I actually wasn't the biggest fan of Lycanroc so I wouldn't mind it just being midday and not a new form.
Seeing a Twilight or eclipse form would be cool. Something like a mix between the day and night forms. If there was something like that, it would explain why the image looks so similar to Midday. If that ends up being a thing, I'm definitely changing my avatar to that.
I think the current day and night forms are more than enough, but I wouldn't have a problem with a third form; I just can't imagine what another Lycanroc form could possibly be (besides something in between the other two).
It's probably just going to be a cutscene or part of the opening of Ultra Sun; or possibly a unique Z-move. That being said, I'm totally up with the idea of a 'Twilight Form' or 'Dusk Form' that would be a Midday form partially transformed into Midnight form. They could add two new forms: a Dusk form would be Midday transforming into Midnight, and a Dawn form that would be Midnight reverting back to Midday.
I don't know, but that Lycanroc in the shot looks like it's back half is Midnight, front is Midday. The legs. the lack of/the shortened-looking tail (the tail is most likely behind the leg but I wouldn't know). And the front is very distinctive. I wonder if any other Pokémon other than Solgaleo and Lunala have been affected by Necrozma, and this Lycanroc is all 'corrupted' or something. #MissingNo
I don't think there'll be a new form. The forms correspond with the Sun and Moon, and it'll only be Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Unless we get a middle game similar to Platinum, there won't be something new. And I'm already doubting there is going to be a between game anyways. There's midnight then there's midday. What else are ya going to do as a time for the form?
GOOD NEWS! According to the preview for next week's Pokémon Sun & Moon episode in Japan, there's a possiblity that Ash's Rockruff might evolve! And, it looks like it's going to become something that isn't Midday or Midnight Lycanroc, as we can see some sort of power entering Rockruff's eyes as the sun rises/sets! I guess there could be a sunset/sunrise form then? Don't know what it could be called though. A middle form would be good for Ash (though I really like midday form). Question is, how would one get it in the game?
There are dusk and dawn times in the game, but I don't think there's ever been a Pokémon that appears exclusively at those times before. So it could evolve at those times.
The problem is, there isn't a huge time slot for them, at the very most, if would have to be just a few hours, unless they split the day into fourths somehow. The small timeslot would make the evolution pretty rare and make it more sought out... Though I guess it goes with Ash's incredible luck and timing. :/
So earlier today an image of the new CoroCoro cover was released on Serebii. There'a a small image on it that looks like it might be a new Lycanroc, although the image is too small to really tell. This is what the description on the site said: "The first images from CoroCoro has been released, showcasing the cover of the magazine. With this, hidden away in the cover is an image that looks very similar to Lycanroc, just with a different colour scheme and a few aesthetic changes. We're currently awaiting further images from the magazine to confirm what this means. Do note, this is not currently confirmed to be related to Pokémon." Spoiler: Here's the zoomed in image It does sort of look like a Lycanroc, sort of like a Midday with a Midnight's color scheme, but at the same time the image is very small and blurry when zoomed in. I'm not sure. What do you guys think?
This is really interesting! I agree that it looks like a fusion of Midday and Midnight Lycanroc, and would make sense given that there have already been fusions in the games (being Ultra Solgaleo and Lunala). But until there's more, I won't give my hopes up. As much as I want for there to be some news on USM, I want to wait to see if this is confirmed for Pokémon.
