If they would add a new Pokémon type to the games, what would it be? I personally see some potential in a Technology typing, or something like that.

I'd kinda like to see some sort of Light type, maybe... Or Sound.

I honestly think that all the new type ideas that have been thrown out over the years have been dumb except Fairy which actually became a thing. I personally only would like a new type if it actually makes sense to me but of course that's my opinion.

I think a light type or a technology type would be cool.
The light could be a counterpart to dark.
The technology could have a strength and weakness to psychic.

The problem with fan made typings is that most official Pokémon types have already included everything elemental, and even some supernatural and fantasy elements, so there's not lots of possibilities left.

Light type is really the best I've heard, and even that's a bit iffy.

I'd love seeing a sound (Whismur and Kricketune would be perfect for this!) or "dimensional" type, personally. Can understand others wanting a light type because we have dark already but its official Japanese name is called the evil type so it wouldn't go together as well, haha. And I think Pokémon's definition of a fairy type is close enough to light as it is (even though fairies in folklore were anything but friendly/cute)!

Light, Sound, and Lunar types would all be types I'd be okay with. I'd wait at least a couple more generations before adding anymore types, though. The Fairy still needs a chance to stand out.

Just Light Type and Sound Type. We don't need anymore than 20 types tbh. I think Sound would be a nice type to see since we could do a lot with this type, and Light because I've been wanting that type for ages.

Yeah, I've heard tell of the "Sound" type and it seems like the best fan-made idea to me. There's a decent amount of Pokémon that could fit it, like Whismur's line, Noibat/Noivern, Chingling, and Chatot... as well as some moves that would fit, like Uproar, Hyper Voice, Sing, and Boomburst... Everyone speculated a Light type before Gen 6 but that's essentially what Fairy type is, I dunno if many people saw Fairy coming! hehe.

I've also heard some people say they'd like a "Bird" type in addition to the Flying type, since there's birds that don't fly, and flying types that aren't birds.

Personally, I'm pretty satisfied with the current types, though!

Space type. :) It could be for star-themed, planet-themed, and moon-themed Pokémon I guess XD

I like the idea of a light type as well.

I like the idea of a Light or a Technology type. There are bound to be even more types in the future, so all we have to do is wait.

Personally, I love the idea of a Sound-Type being added to the games. Thinking about it from a technical standpoint, sound already plays a relatively big role in Pokémon, being used as more of a status condition than an actual typing. There are several moves that are sound-based already:

Boomburst, Bug Buzz, Chatter, Confide, Disarming Voice, Echoed Voice, Encore, Grass Whistle, Growl, Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Lucky Chant, Metal Sound, Noble Roar, Parting Shot, Perish Song, Relic Song, Roar, Round, Screech, Sing, Snarl, Snore, Sonic Boom, Supersonic, Uproar, and Yawn.

The moves are already there, and there are also very obvious candidates of Pokémon which could receive a Sound-Typing:

    Whismur, Loudred, and Exploud: Sound-Type.
    Chingling and Chimecho: Psychic/Sound-Type.
    Kricketot and Kricketune: Bug/Sound-Type.
    Chatot: Sound/Flying-Type.
    Meloetta: Sound/Psychic-Type and Sound/Fighting-Type.
    Noibat and Noivern: Sound/Dragon-Type.

Some potential candidates to receive a Sound-Typing:

Igglybuff, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff: Sound/Fairy-Type; This is mainly due to Jigglypuff's popularity in the anime with her singing ability.
Voltorb and Electrode: Electric/Sound-Type; I don't know what it is about these two, but they seem like good candidates. They're explosive balls, and explosions are loud.
Woobat and Swoobat: Either Sound/Flying-Type or Sound/Psychic-Type; their Pokédex entries refer to them using sound as a defense mechanism.
Audino: Normal/Sound-Type; This is primarily because of Audino's name; it's the hearing Pokémon.
    Mega Audino: Fairy/Sound-Type.

So right there are 19 potential candidates for Sound-Type, and while this would be the shortest amount of any type of Pokémon, there would undoubtedly be a swarm of newly introduced Sound-type Pokémon.

I'm just gonna jump in the wagon, and say the "Sound" type. I like the idea of such a unique typing, and it would be interesting to see its type effectiveness. It could also possibly buff Exploud (the poor fella) in giving him a Boomburst with type advantages (if Boomburst became "sound" type).

I've seen a few people say Sound and Light, and I've thought of those as well. I actually thought that Sound was going to be the new type, rather than Fairy. Now that we have Fairy, and everything is balanced again, I can honestly say that Game Freak should stop making new types. This is probably the most balanced Generation since Gen. 2.

Now, if I were to come up with a new type, I've thought of Bloody type (lol), Wood type, and Crystal/Diamond type.

I see the light type possibly being added to the games in the future. There is a dark type, so why not the opposite type, the light type?

Light, Sound, and Cosmic would all make great potential types in the future. They could possibly include these types when the roster of Pokémon nears 1000 or so.
