New Pokémon

With the addition of Mega Evolution, there are perhaps going to be around 75 new Pokémon and 25 Mega Evolutions. I'm hoping that there are over 100 new Pokémon, though! I would love to see any type of Pokémon (Primal Reshiram and Zekrom!)!

 

A dolphin and a wolf Pokémon at least have to come about before they cut off the ideas for new Pokémon entirely.

 

I want a velociraptor, a chair, a different ant, a non legendary water-fire, a fire-electric, another spider and/or scorpion, and dual; type starters just to name a few things.

 

I hope they fix something they did poorly in Gen 6. That is, I hope they add a lot of Pokémon.

Okay, Gen 6 had a lot of really good designs (I'm sorry Cryognal and Vanillite, but wut?), but their quantity was so low. Gen 1 added 150, 2 added another 100, 3 and 4 were each between that amount, and Gen 5 added 155. Gen Six on, the other hand? Just seventy-one. They really dropped the ball in adding a noteworthy number unique new species, and I don't count Mega Evolutions as being enough to excuse them for that. It should be at least 100 plus some megas.

As for design, I hope they bring it back to some of the themes and styles found in 3 and 4 (and maybe add some new evos besides another Eevee, eh?). I think a lot of 1 and 2 designs are weird (mostly the common anime-human eyes), and there are a fair number of 5 and 6 I don't like either.

Another thing: I'm curious to know the theme of their mascot legendaries. They've tackled a lot of big topics lately: time and space, life and death. What's next? Nature and Technology? Entropy and Order? Butter side top and butter side bottom?

Oh, and would it kill them to make a Dragon-Psychic Pokémon? Sure, it's the definition of OP in Gen 1, but it has so much aesthetic potential.

 

If there's a Gen 7 on the way then I'll be excited to see what it brings! I'd personally be made really happy if they introduced a steel/electric type or some really cool ice types (pun pun). I'd be really interested to see the generations theme and location to say the least!

I do agree there should be more mons than were added in Gen 6. I was disappointed with how Gen 6 lacked in number but considering the complete 3D overhaul, among other things, I could live with it. But they should try for a good bulk of new Pokémon next gen.

I would def love to see more non-Eevee evos next gen, and I'd love some megas for Pokémon like Parasect (But you guys would expect that off me haha). Tho more Eevee evos are welcome, they're so adorable! Give me my bug Eevee!

They've already done that with Latias and Latios btw. Unless you're meaning a regular mon in which case, yeah I'd like that too haha

Yeah, the 3D overhaul does seem like it did a number on the budgeting... and to be honest, I don't know if it was worth it. I preferred the sprites.

I think in all honesty it was worth it personally. Don't get me wrong I loved the sprites but the 3D models felt like they really added, at least, to me they did. But to each their own y'know? It's fair enough you prefer the 2D sprites. But hey at least the devs have models they can now reuse for a while, so that feels like it could mean that the next gen has much more Pokémon in it, at least they won't have to remake over 700 Pokémon now haha. I can hope!

Alright well considering my wished for typing already exists, I might as well put forth a new one. Ghost/normal. I'd love to see this in the games personally, even if such a combo is probably broken haha.

 

To be fair, they had to make 3D models for literally every single Pokémon, plus their forms, plus their movements, plus even more. I can let them get away with it this time.

 

A poison/electric type Pokémon would be cool.

- Another dog like Pokémon (Preferably cute like Lillipup)
- Another Eeveelution
- No electric rodent (Seriously Dedenne was the last straw, enough with the Pikachu knockoffs)
- No new "Route 1 rodent" (Rattatta,Zigzagoon,Patrat,Bidoof, Bunnelby. I'm looking at you)

Megas I want to see

- Mega Stoutland (Give it fighting resistance)
- Mega Pyroar (It'd look awesome)
- Mega Beartic (Also look awesome)

 

A wolf Pokémon, something similar to Lucario but wolfier.

Some form of new evolution for the main legendaries(not primal reversion or mega evolution)

I ask for one thing, and one thing only. If I obtain this thing, I will declare Sun and Moon to be the best games ever, and will throw all my money at Game Freak and Nintendo. I will not complain about Sun and moon, and will defend Gen 7's title as the best gen ever to my final breath.

I. Want. Mega. Flygon. NOW.

And I don't want just a crappy-looking mega that doesn't do squat for Flygon, (poor Aerodactyl, you got the short end of the stick in 6th gen didn't you?), I want something that can put the fear of Arceus into the likes of Garchomp, something that will catapult this poor, unloved dragon straight into Uber like Gen 6 did for Kangaskhan.

Basically, I want Game Freak to acknowledge the most popular, most mediocre dragon in the game and give it new purpose, because good lord this thing is loved by everyone except comp, and the first Ground/Dragon type deserves better than that.

I will even put up with the return of the dreaded Fire/Fighting starter Pokémon again if I can have this thing. Please please PLEASE give us Mega Flygon! You had two games to do this! JUST DO IT! don'tletyourdreamsbedreams.

 

I'd like to see Slurpuff have a baby form
as well as Aromatisse

A mega evolution of Dunsparce, or at least a second/baby form at the most.
Another legendary fairy type. But make it cute, instead of pretty.

 

What I'm hoping for Sun & Moon's Dex is:
- Still have some old Pokémon included in the new region.
- Around 70-80 new Pokémon (Excluding new Megas)
- No baby evolutions, they'll just take up space
- Sea serpent or a Megalodon fossil Pokémon
- No more than 5 Mega Evolutions. I think it's a bit excessive to have like 10 new megas
- More fire types? Since there's a rumour about how the new game will be set in Hawaii so perhaps more volcanic areas/caves?
- More electric types too but I think it's unlikely to happen
- A Dragon/Poison Pokémon pls
- Or even better, a Dragon/Bug Pokémon.

I'm OK-ish with new Mega Evolutions but please GF don't waste them on some already powerful Pokémon (*cough* Garchomp, Alakazam, and Charizard *cough*)

 

How would these look, out of curiosity?

 

I'm thinking of a komodo dragon for the Poison/Dragon Pokémon. Komodo Dragons are naturally venomous so why not? Plus, if the rumours about the new region is true, then the environment would suit it pretty well since their natural habitats are tropical forests.

As for the bug dragon, maybe as a fossil Pokémon? Ancient insects tend to be really big or so I heard, maybe we'll find something similar to Aerodactyl, like a big amber containing its remnants. Sooo perhaps a giant mantis-like dragon with big eyes and scythe hands? What first came to my mind was a giant dragonfly but we already have Yanmega for that, haha. (Maybe instead of a standalone Pokémon the type combo will actually be for Mega Yanmega or Mega Flygon, who knows?)

 

Nicely said and I can picture those being possibly done.
Though we as fans, tend to get the short end of the stick most of the time.
Komodo dragon I am a fan of. It would be a powerhouse I bet.
Kind of like a nidoking of sorts....

 

I'd be happy with pretty much any new Pokémon, but I do have some ones that I would like to see! It's not a whole lot, but these are some hopes I've had for a while.

• I'd like a Dragon-type Eeveeloution to go along with Sylveon. The past 2 sets of Eeveeloutions have come in pairs, and since the last Special type that doesn't have an Eevee for it is the Dragon-type, I'd say it's the logical next step (the Special types are Water, Electric, Fire, Grass, Psychic, Dark, Ice, Fairy, and Dragon- all of which have Eevee evolutions besides Dragon).
• A Bug/Dragon would be amazing, since it would combine two of my favorite types. I could see them either giving an existing Pokémon an evolution/Mega with this typing, or more likely is making an all-new set of Pokémon with this type. I think a Scorpion-like Dragon or a Mantis Dragon would both be pretty cool.
• I'd like some Megas and/or Evolutions to go to some Pokémon who need them, especially single-stage Pokémon. Dunsparce is one of them, as it's one of my three top favorites. Other Pokémon that could use a boost include Farfetch'd, Girafarig, Zangoose, Seviper, Chatot, Sigilyph, and Druddigon, among others.
• Also Solrock/Lunatone megas because Sun/Moon. It needs to happen.
• This is just wishful thinking, but a Mega Volcarona would be amazing. It would also fit in with the Sun theme, as well. It doesn't necessarily need a Mega, but as it is one of my top three favorites, I had to include it here.

 

There's definitely going to be new Pokémon as we already have Magearna and that bird Pokémon revealed. I really don't care what new Pokémon get added, I just love Pokémon! I'm always happy with all of the new Pokémon so I doubt it will be any different this time.
