Because the flip side of "old stuff was better" seemed like a fun idea.

What bands/artists out there do you feel have improved since they started?

    "Weird Al" Yankovic
I still like his early stuff, but back then the only vocal inflections he could really mimic were Michael Jackson. Now? Give any album of his from Running With Scissors and onward a listen and you'll see just how much he's improved. I know he's known for a lot of the direct parodies like "Ebay" and "The Saga Begins", but take a listen at some of his style parodies as well like Germs (Nine Inch Nails) and Ringtone (Queen). The man's a genius at what he does.

    Dragonforce
Loved you, ZP; you brought the band to my home state many times it seems, but damn if their latest album with Marc Hudson on the vocals isn't their best release yet.

    My Chemical Romance
Shut up, I loved Danger Days enough to buy the album, and I used to REALLY dislike the band as a whole.

    Rammstein
They were never "bad" to begin with, but I've gotten a lot more enjoyment out of their more recent stuff.
This would be a terrible moment to say that I really enjoyed Pussy. There, I made the obvious song title joke. I'm sorry.

    Epica
Didn't start enjoying until Divine Conspiracy. Sorry.

    The Beatles
Most of their early albums were all variations on the theme of taking girls out. Rubber Soul was when they started getting trippy and fun, and Revolver was when someone let George loose on the sitar.

Matthew Good. I still love the stuff from his old albums when it was still 'Matthew Good Band', but the last two albums Vancouver and Lights of Endangered Species (especially Vancouver) really show a more refined song-writing process and composition and I think he really improved with time.

Hmm... I'm not sure who I could put here.

But I suppose that Breaking Benjamin has gotten better (even though I love his old stuff too) He seems to be a little bit more hardcore now, which is fine since you can still understand what he's singing about haha.

The Birthday Massacre, her old music was amazing but her newer stuff is even cooler. She just keeps improving :3 I keep waiting to see when she comes out with another album haha.

Another one to add to the list for me is Liars. They change their style somewhat fundamentally being experimental rock on each new album, which plays a part in my opinion I must suppose, but I feel they really just get better as time goes on, and their older albums don't stand up the same way. Their latest albums WIXIW and Sisterworld are my favorites by a good margin.
