Fun fact: The word for tongue in Swedish is Tunga, and when used as an "adjective subjective" (like night slash or axe thrower) it's spelt Tung, so Tungslasher would be Swenglish for Tongueslasher. :P

I always given nicknames to my favorites for example
    • Torchic called Filou
    • Rayquaza called SkyDragon
    • Victini called Thinny
But since Pokémon Black and White everyone gets a own name...sometimes they are really stupid..and only describe what the Pokémon looks like *laugh*
Only my favorites or Teammembers got cool names :3

I always nickname the Pokémon that are active in my team (except legendaries, but I almost never train them anyway). I generally spend a lot of time on nicknames and try to make them meaningful.
E.g. Jharna my Feraligatr (Sanskrit for creek or spring), Jin my Ampharos (Japanese for benevolence), Henna my Fearow...but I like when people give their mons silly or funny names too.

For some reason I nickname my Pokémon after figures in mythology and depending on their type and form after god's and goddesses

I nickname my Pokémon only if they're a part of my team that I'm using to beat the game with OR they're a starter.
For example, some of my SoulSilver team's names are:
    Lucas the Lugia
    Kanto the Feraligatr :D
Rocky the Steelix (got him in a trade)

Anything else I don't bother with, since I hardly ever change up my team once it's set. :/

Lately i like to nickname Pokémon after fictional characters that fit them best/ remind most of. Mostly been naming things after Sound Horizon, such as Artemisia, Elefseus, Thanatos, Moira, so on.
Finally more decent names than the usual item/ food names xD

I always name my Pokémon, main team or not. XD I always have a theme every game. One time I named all my Pokémon after food in my Platinum Nuzlocke run. My favorite was Adobong Pusit (Philippine squid dish) the Spiritomb. I also had a shoe/footwear theme in my Leafgreen. My favorite was Stilleto the Charizard and Boots the Primape. XD

Only recently started nicknaming Pokémon. I ran into a Camerupt in White 2 and for some reason the name "Titan" popped into my head. I just had to nickname him. Then it felt odd not having anyone else with a nickname, so I named them all. ;)

    My favs have been:

Omelette the Azumarill (haha, I just had to!)
    Moriarty the Serperior
Ulmo the Vaporeon (named after god of the sea in Tolkien's mythology)
    Zephyr the Swellow
Aconite the Vileplume (another name for Monkswood)
    Siren the Misdreavus

I always nickname them. It gives them personality and they become engrained in my mind! (EX: Serta the Ampharos,Delta The scizor)

I have to nickname all my Pokémon. To me it adds a level of companionship that I can't get if I just call i t, say Pikachu. Stupid and corny maybe, but I love naming my Pokémon. It makes them unique.

I've always nicknamed my Pokémon! I still cling to some names from when I was 7... Night the Umbreon, Shocky the Pikachu... XD
Nowadays, I've nicknamed so many Pokémon that I just think of the first human name that comes to mind and that's its name.

I normally nickname them human names, unless I can think of something better (normally even more stupid like Blaze or Growls)

Yeah. I like nicknaming Pokémon. I've got Specter the Umbreon, Ninja the Lucario, Oswald the Horsea, Blade the Weavile... I've got all kinds of cool nicknames on my Pokémon.
I even named my friend's Oshawott Neptune... xD

I prefer to nickname my Pokémon after something mythical (I love mythology :D )
For example, I always name my Ninetales "Kitsune"
If I can't come up with something like that, I try to think of another cool nickname
My Pidgey is always called either "Skyfall" "Nightsky" or "Skyline"

I usually name the pkm, the first thing that comes in my mind, but there are most off the time girl names, so had an hard time making a name for my Tepig. Than eventually I came with Hao, as also my Umbreon in SS is named XD.
