Nuzlocke Challenge!

I've Nuzlocked a few times. Most end catastrophically bad, though I did finish Crystal at Red in Mt Silver with the following team:
- Crystal Nuzlocke Hall of Fame

 

I've played it once or twice with some other rules:

• If I've captured the Pokémon already, and it's the first I see in a route, I can not-count it and catch the second one instead. If the second one is of the same species of a Pokémon I've caught already too, then the route is dead, and I can't catch anything on it.
• I must use Pokémon in order of catching. I can't switch them unless they faint, and I make a point of releasing the starter once I've caught a second Pokémon.
• If the opponent does two critical hits in a row, then I'm allowed to reset and pretend it didn't happen.

 

I do these all the time. I love nuzlockes, its a nice change of pace from playing the game normally.

 

Actually, these are the official rules. Tim and I did some digging through the website, and found that Nuzlocke himself says different areas of the same place (Pinwheel, safaris) do count as different areas, as well.

Our added rules include:
-Nickname all Pokémon
-No duplicates (if the first Pokémon encountered is one you already have, catch the second. if it's still the same one, just move on)
-If you find a shiny and it isn't the first Pokémon, too bad
-We do not count the tutorial part
-If you absolutely cannot progress without a certain HM, and none of your current Pokémon can learn it, you are allowed to find one that can. (but you cannot use that Pokémon for anything but the HM move)

Looking to do a White and Heart Gold run, soon...

 

I always thought it was a neat challenge, and I like reading Nuzlockes (both written and comics). But I don't think I could try one myself. I get too attached to things, and probably wouldn't make it past like...the second Pokémon death.

 

I love nuzlockes! I've done it in Sapphire, Platinum, HeartGold, Black, White, and Black 2. Never managed to finish my Platinum run, though. I got bored after a while.
The most painful thing to ever happen in a nuzlocke is when your main Pokémon dies from an unexpected critical hit.

I was going to do a Nuzlocke run with my Heart Gold game but i decided to try a monotype run instead. >>; But the idea of doing one sounds pretty awesome. Maybe i'll restart another game and try it out haha! It'd be a good challenge

 

I'd like doing this on Black 2 but I'm never resetting my game :/
I might get a White 2 Rom and Nuzlocke on a flashcart, sometime.

 

I might be doing a White 2 nuzlocke soon out of boredom.

Ah, Nuzlockes. I love 'em. I started an Emerald Nuzlocke, but it got deleted because it wasn't a legit copy of the game - I found out the hard way. I also started a Pearl Nuzlocke, but I stopped it because I really didn't have the energy at the time.

I am currently playing through a Crystal Nuzlocke though, and haven't got a single death yet!

 

Maybe C: But I dunno because I really hate my voice...

 

I just played some of Light Platinum, nuzlocked, though.
I failed so badly.
Time: Under 9 minutes. LOL
Maybe next time i'll do better, xD.

Oooooh! I am in the process of making a comic out of a Nuzlocke I started last year. I can't wait to actually finish the challenge, though, since I had to restart when I got so sick of the many deaths. I have an additional rule: All deaths are put in a grave box. Once that box is filled, game over (it didn't happen but I just got so sad when Raisin the Crobat died).

@SushiCake: yeah. I tried that too. Failed miserably against a Bug Catcher of all things. Though, once you passed that, it gets easier.
