Everyone has experienced it before: rage in video games. Whether it's a minigame that you've failed at countless times, or that one Pokémon that just won't get caught, you will rage.

I'm wondering; how do you deal with these moments? Do you ragequit playing, or do you ask someone else to beat that level for you? Or maybe you have a certain method to calm down quickly and continue playing?

If I ever get to that level of rage I put the game down, or shut it off for a while and do something else to calm down before trying again later, or the next day. Thankfully it doesn't happen very often for me. In the end it's just a game after all.

I give up. I'm the type of person that believes that ypu have only one chance.
I might try it again later, though. Eventually. But that usually takes a few months or even years for me to reach that stage. And then, once again, I'll only get one chance.

I,he got a bad temper and a little bit of as voilent streak, so there have been a few times I,be just lost it and threw my 3ds against the wall. But it always works afterwards no matter how hard I throw it.

Exhibit A of this for me: Super Mario Sunshine. I've lost count of the number of times I've rage-quitted this. I just put the controller down and turn it off now. I used to just flip out, but i learned enough control the hard way. My first gameboy broke because i was playing lego knights, and i threw it down. I was sitting in one of those upside down mushroom chairs, threw it down, where it smashed against the metal base, rather than the carpet. The inside screen broke :(

I look up how in the world I'm supposed to beat my opponent, and if that STILL doesn't work, walk away from the game for a few days

it depends, most times I can just set it down and walk away, turn it off and change games for a bit. I have had apps that cheat on my phone, and those get deleted, they're mostly free ones anyway. usually taking a break is enough to calm me down and try again.

If I get really into a game and continue playing it, and I keep failing at once, this is my sequence; first I walk away for a moment and get a drink of water, then I go at it, but if all else fails, throw the controller against the wall, quit. A good example of this was... When I was playing a Castlevania game, I just got sick and tired of the same thing over and over again.

I actually feel this way right now, as I'm trying to hatch a Shiny Chikorita using the Masuda Method, but I've got 210 eggs and it's not going very well...
I usually just shut off the game and go do something completely unrelated as to get the feelings out of my head, and I don't hatch that many each day. In a day I'll usually give up after 40 eggs. I also feel this way about Sonic the Hedgehog, because I beat the game when I was like 7 but I can't get pass World 2 as a 15 year old! :furious:

    Dear lord
My salt levels spike when pubbing on TF2's MvM
Almost nobody knows what they're doing (But when they do, everything's fine)

I usually just go to PvP when it happens, but even then, the salt is still legit sometimes |P

Super Smash Bros (Brawl or 4) online, especially if there's lag present.

Excluding the multiplayer aspect, the award goes to Battletoads or Silver Surfer. on NES.

I keep throwing myself at the obstacle in question until I get absolutely frustrated, then I'll look up up online. If I still can't get it, then I'll walk away. Usually. If I don't walk away I'll keep throwing myself at it. XD

Well I'm someone very patient, so I don't ragequit. I tested my limits by playing Give Up, it's like an awful, horrible game where you'll die like, 250 times before the end, and you can click on a "Give up" button. XD But if something really pisses me out, I don't play for days after that.

I was stuck on a final boss for 2 weeks, because I didn't know how to trigger the character's final move. I went nuts.
Besides that, I'm really patient, and if I'm stuck on something, I play something else, until I think of a good way to move on from the place where I'm stuck.

This was me with Bravely Default. I found it soo unfair and difficult even on easy mode so I haven't played in ages since I'm not fond of grinding for many many hours for something that shouldn't be as insanely difficult as it was. Good thing you can fast forward through battles which really speeds things up but otherwise I haven't been able to scrounge up the motivation since ragequitting last time. x.x If only I had someone who could beat it for me, lol.

I simply set the game down for a bit, take a deep breath, and either try again or move on to something else.

For me, this attitude manifests primarily with the Infinite Attack levels in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, simply because the controls for some of the Specials are incredibly frustrating to deal with. (This is my one complaint about Dream Team; about half of the specials have very irksome controls and involve use of the 3DS' gyroscope.)

Oh, Super Mario Galaxy is my rage-game (I'm pretty sure everyone has gotten pissed at a 3D Mario platformer at least once)

That game is very fun, but at times, so incredibly difficult it used to make me throw the controller around for God sakes. The game had its easy points, but after you finish the main storyline, those levels get so amazingly annoying it hurts.

Shovel Knight, NG+. For those who don't know, NG+ is basically the same as regular gameplay except each level has only 2 CHECKPOINTS. For the last levels, they all have 6 because you die so frequently, so them having two isn't exactly helping. In fact, on my old 3DS, I broke the R trigger because I got so pissed that I hurled it across the room and jammed it... But nowadays, I don't normally rage at a game, and when I do, it's better because I take deep breathes and close the game until I cool off.

I find myself ragequitting on nearly every single video game I've ever played. Even when I have a game running on the easiest difficulty setting, there's always a moment at some point where I just can't seem to win or make any progress. Even when I try and try again, there's no way I can do any better than my piss-poor performance in that particular level. It's no wonder I think most if not all video games are rigged in the same way as casino and carnival games and those quiz shows from the 1950s.
