Any bands or artists where you are a huge fan of their old stuff, but their recent stuff just doesn't do it for you? Marilyn Manson is like that for me. I'm a huge fan of the stuff from 1994 to about 2003, but I feel it started to go downhill after Golden Age of Grotesque. The songs became more about his relationship and love life issues rather than social commentary after that point and I just don't appreciate or respect it as much, it kind of feels like Manson decided to jump on the emo bandwagon instead of spreading his messages about society and the modern human condition. I don't like the turn there.

Gorillaz, their newest album is kind of weird. Just something about it doesn't really feel like Gorillaz, to me.

Evanescence, Although I listen to her music still and recently bought her newest album, I still like the older stuff a bit more. Even though it's all emo and crap, it was still good music. : /

Mushroomhead, they replaced their original singer or something and now their music is just noise to me. :C

Kamelot; I understand why they replaced their original singer. But their newer stuff just doesn't feel the same. It sort of feels bland now. Which is really saddening since their previous music was really beautiful to listen to.

Meeeh I'm kinda old school anyways. Haha. I love the good ol' 80s and early 90s stuff.

Blink 182, MCR, most of the Punk Rock bands back then in the mainstream that are still playing just have changed their sound entirely.

Especially Blink 182. Trying to compare their first album with 'Neighborhoods' is painful, just because their sound has developed into a stage where they try to sound Alternative, not really focusing on where their music should be headed. Their style has changed, and even though other people find it great, I find it tedious in general; the singer just doesn't put his heart into it, and they focus too much on drums these days. P.S. Echo doesn't make every single song sound good.

I don't like this band anymore, but I enjoyed listening to Linkin Park's older music (Hybrid Theory, Meteora albums). Their newer music just doesn't work for me.

I like pretty much anything from the 50's to the early 2000's--most of today's music (with a few rare exceptions) is just meh at best

I like Bad Brains, but only their earliest stuff. The "new" (Just the latest, not really new) stuff isn't that different but just doesn't have the same feel. Besides the singer got fucked up with drugs so you can't make out anything he's saying, pretty much. And I've seen a live video and it really looks like he burnt out on drugs...

    Rhapsody (of Fire)
Don't get me wrong; I still love their stuff. Even under "Luca Turilli's Rhapsody" they're still good, but something shifted in Triumph or Agony and I just wasn't able to follow everything in The Frozen Tears of Angels, The Cold Embrace of Fear, or Ascending to Infinity as well.

    Gorillaz
The first album was good. G-Sides was fun. Demon Days was amazing. D-Sides was fun. Except for a couple tracks, I just didn't enjoy Plastic Beach as much, ditto The Fall.

    Disturbed
The Sickness felt a bit over the top in terms of "grimdark". Believe was alright. I liked Ten Thousand Fists a lot...but after that they fell into that trap where once you'e heard one song of theirs, you've heard them all.

    Serj Tankian
I LOVED Elect the Dead. I'm not sure what was up with Imperfect Harmonies and Harakiri was uneven.

    Lordi
Deadache was hit or miss and it feels like they're barrel-scraping on Babez For Breakfast.

Aw D: I agree with you on the Gorillaz. Their older stuff was awesome. Plus they were pretty quirky on what they sang about. Plastic Beach really didn't impress me any. I liked Stylo for a little while but it grew dull on me T_T

Same. Stylo's not bad at all, but it just doesn't have the lasting catchiness of say, Every Planet We Reach is Dead or Re-Hash.

    Yeah :c
The ones I still get excited over with hearing on the radio at work are usually "Clint Eastwood" and "Dare" those two are fun to sing along with xD Though, I don't know the rap part much in the Clint Eastwood one. But it's still fun lol

Metalica! The old stuff is glorious, and Enter Sandman is one of my favorite songs ever. That said, I cant stand the vast majority of their Death Magnetic album. They claimed they were trying to go back to the oldschool, but it just doesnt sound right to me.

There are others like this as well but I cant think of them off the top of my head.

    Adding a couple more...

    Ozzy
I'm not going to be one of those "He's had nobody good since Randy" people, but...for me, No More Tears was his last album where I really enjoyed everything on it. Down to Earth and Ozzmosis had a couple good ones, but nothing really resonating. Black Rain and Scream fell into a Disturbed-esque trap of "Once you've heard one song, you've heard them all."
(Okay, Under Cover was entertaining. I'll give him that.)

    Krypteria
They haven't had many albums, to be fair. At any rate; Bloodangel's Cry was fun, but...most recently, My Fatal Kiss and All Beauty Must Die still kind of blend into the same thing for me. In Medias Res was okay...but their first album is still by far my favorite. They were still experimenting on a lot of songs and alternated between male and female vocalists, and their X-Menish track is still awesome.
