Attack on Titan's first OP. I love this opening for so many reasons. One, it's visually stunning, amazingly well done for merely an opening. It shows you right off the bat "Hey, this is a great anime with great animation". Its sequence even takes you through the timeline, not with just visuals but with the lyrics. First, talking of being oppressed and shaken due to the attack, next comes the inspiring "will to fight" lyrics, and finally the "fighting back" lines. I love the theme song, catchy and badass, makes anything cooler. Overall good OP if you ask me.

This one is more of a personal preference, but the first OP for Kuroko no Basuke. Nice, exciting, pumped up, and gets you ready to watch a funny, but still nerve-wracking sports anime. The music is nice, really pumped with that gutiar, and it introduces the faces of this anime. Shows you the tough opponents we'll watch the team face, and the team we'll be rooting for. I don't know, I can't quite put my finger on it, but I really like this OP.

My favorite One Piece opening. Awesome start to the new timeskip, showing off the new designs perfectly and bringing a really catchy tune too. I don't think a rehash of the old one could it justice really. Though this opening is sung by the same person who sung the very first one so it has a lot of nostalgia to it.

 

The first Gundam Wing Opening is also my childhood. My brother and I still have our Gundam models. We also still have Endless Waltz on VHS.

I absolutely love anime openings and I could probably post a dozen that I love but these are the most nostalgic for me.

I like the opening because i like the song, the words kinda fit with what goes on in the anime, and the style of the opening. The song is "One reason" by Fade.

Of course Japanese had to make a unique theme for the show, thus making the original seem like rubbish in comparison. And since the clips are from various episodes, watching it is like a reminder of what's happened in the past!

To me an opening should help you get hyped for a series. D.gray-man's Opening got me hooked as soon I set my eye/ears on it. The animation at the time looked absolutely gorgeous and it had a really good song.

Cowboy Bebop's opening was classy as heck. In fact, it was the classiest.

Spice and Wolf Op 1
One of my absolute favorite songs and anime ever. This opening sets up the the mood, the world and the setting of the story to the viewers. Also Horo is the most adorable thing ever




Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) Op 1
Again, one of my favorite songs as well and showing what the anime's about using A LOT of symbolism. But the visual for this are really stunning, showing you just how much of a struggle this death game is and great editing to boot.

 

The openings from Attack on Titan. Yeah, both of them. The first opening was awesome, that's clear, but many people say that the second opening was way worse. And, the first time I heard it, I thought the same thing. However, after listening to it more and more, it sounded better than before. It just kind of grew on me.

And Soul Eater's first opening is cool as well.

Not going to lie, Madoka Magica's OP is kind of moe, but I really like the song. It's been in my head for a LONG time. I can't find a good video of it, though. The song is out there, though.

 

Soul Eater's first opening is by far my favorite anime opening right now. The music is great, and have you looked up what they're actually saying in that opening?

The first verse is:
If the lamplight of connected souls points towards your heart
Can you hear a resonance stronger than words now?

Point is, the lyrics are 100% fitting, and in my opinion very very good. And the music is very cool.

Basically just a badass opening for a badass anime.
