    Chaos.

The Hoenn region was in Chaos. Groudon and Kyogre's rage had decimated the entire region. Having reached their primal forms with the help of Team Aqua and Magma, even Rayquaza - too weak to enter his Mega form - was powerless to stop them. But, even with all that strength, they had to run out of energy eventually. When they had both reached their limit of power, they simultaneously unleashed all their remaining strength upon each other... They had finally stopped fighting... but at what cost?

The Region at the centre of the chaos had taken a strong beating... The conflict had caused loss of life for both Human and Pokémon alike... However, all was not lost. Some had survived, taking shelter from the conflict, using caves or bunkers to keep themselves outside the line of fire. But what they emerged to... made most of them wish they had just let the conflict take them.

What was left of Hoenn was a desolate wasteland. Barren, dry expanses stretched some places, while others were covered by raging seawater. Kanto, Johto, and even Sinnoh were affected by this war, and the hostile weather conditions meant Vehicles from Unova and Kalos, hoping to help any survivors, couldn't even hope to approach the area. The few that survived were all on their own, and it wasn't long before fights broke out - people and Pokémon trying to find resources to keep themselves living. Former Trainers would often use their Pokémon to give themselves advantages in these fights... and since the pokéball network was down, those who could find functioning pokéballs could catch any number of surviving Pokémon - They were no longer restricted to a team of six...

...The Hoenn region... Was in Chaos.

    "...There you go, Vulpix..."

Harley was once a Pokémon trainer. He had set off on a journey one day to take on the Pokémon Gym challenge, and one day maybe even become the Champion...

But this was not to be so. After a couple of months on this journey - just as he got to Ever Grande city - about to embark onto Victory road, that's when the disaster started. He was one of the lucky ones, taking refuge inside the caves, the rocks forming a strong natural bunker...

But that was in the past. Now, he was inside the same cave, now abandoned, feeding his Vulpix with some food - Pokéblock, which he found inside a small shack a while ago. He stretched the supply for as long as he could, but he was now just about out of both Pokéblock and food for himself... He would have to go looking for more...

He propped himself up, his Vulpix hopping into his tattered Backpack, before arriving at the exit - blockaded with rocks. He sent out his Flygon to help him with moving them out of the way, before walking out into what was left of Ever Grande...

Grass was nowhere to be seen - nothing green was, for that matter. Dust and dirt covered the ground, almost burying the remains of the town. The wind blew dust around the air, almost like a constant sandstorm. He pulled out and equipped a pair of rather scratched Go-Goggles to combat the sand. To his right, the sea raged, but not in the usual blue hue... now it was more of a dull ochre tone. It almost matched the land itself...

He knew all the buildings were empty around here - they were the first to be looted. His only hope was the mainland. Hopping onto his Flygon's back, he took off, flying low. Flying was, for the most part, impossible. The only way one could hope to do it was in short hops, and not going up too high. It also required a good Ground-type capable of flight, of which there were only really two viable options - Flygon being one, the other a Gliscor.

After a few hops between various different islands scattered on the way there, he soon arrived on the shores of the mainland. He started walking down the beach, keeping alert in case he was ambushed, looking out for any buildings around that might have supplies...
