    Interested in chemistry? Having problems with organic chemistry? No worries. We got it here just for you.

    Deduction of chemical structures, multi-step synthesis, IUPAC nomenclature problems, you name it, we'll solve it.

    I'll do it in two fashions:
    1) Answering problems that you may have
    2) Looking for problems on a certain topic and you can try them (solutions are on the next page after the problems end).

    I'm going to be hopefully starting up with more general chemistry (not specifically organic or inorganic) in a few weeks, and after taking a preview of the syllabus, I'm getting a little bit concerned with acid-base reactions. I know it should be easy enough with its focus revolving almost entirely around H+ and OH-, and somehow I'm under the impression that I'm overthinking it, especially when it comes to aqueous equilibria. Would that be within the scope of the organic discussion?

    Hi @[member="Zero Sifr"],

    I believe this should be the purview of physical chemistry, but the concept would prove useful for organic chemistry especially when we discuss carboxylic acids, amines and amino acids. So I've uploaded a write-up to the Q&A Section of our website (http://lvorganichem.weebly.com) for the discussion section (you gotta click on the menu button for it). The document name is qna_1.pdf.

    Anyways, we would be moving on into the next module of this discussion section after IUPAC nomenclature, and that would be looking at the various reagents and terminologies when we talk about reactions pertaining to organic molecules. We would start off with talking about electrophiles and nucleophiles.

    Linking back to Zero's question, acids are in general electrophiles and bases are in general nucleophiles.
