Welcome to Ornithe. This is a world where humans have the abilities of birds and many other things. A fantastical world where order and chaos live in harmony. Essentially, a sad version of D&D where we use online RNG for dice.

The main story is that you and the other characters I have chosen are just going to go on a journey for one reason or another.

Submit your characters below. 4 characters will be chosen. I can't handle too many in one RPG or I'll scream and flip my computer.

When creating your character you will get 3 free Extra Points. You can spend these on stats below like this:

ExtPts: +1 Speed +2 Charm or something like that.


Hints and Rules:

- Each bird has their own abilities. Pick wisely, for once you choose a class, you must stick by it.

- Use your extra points wisely.

- NO MARY-SUES.

- Try to be unique. I will not take any repeated classes. If not, try to make a better OC than someone in the other class e.g. you want to be a Parrot but someone else is one. You have two options: try and make a better Parrot character, or become a different class.

- Please make your entire form ONE SINGLE COMMENT.

- Define everything clearly. Nothing vague like "my character is a nice person" or "my character is very strong". Both those are Sue-ish and too vague.

- Try to wait for several people to answer and not go one-on-one if you're in a situation where everyone is in there.

- NO GODMODDING (aka taking over someone else's character). NPCs and other things will be controlled by me, so you will only be in control of your character.

Hawk: The warrior. All-around fighter. Strong with attacking. However, Hawks cannot learn Magic. They're also quite slow.

Lovebird: Has better healing abilities than everyone else. And the only healing abilities among everyone else. Sucks at attacking, so don't even bother.

Crow: Fast. Smart. But not as strong as Hawk. No magic, either.

Parrot: The weirdest fighter. Can do cool things. Popular outside of battle. Just a Bard/Minstrel.

Falcon: The hunter. Strong defense. Uses ranged attacks that are powerful, but can only hit one by one. The only fighter that uses both regular weapons and magic effectively.

Penguin: The Brute. High strength. Terrible at everything else.

Update: I should've worded the Parrot differently. Essentially, it's a bard/minstrel kind of character that can put status effects on everything.

 

These signups look good! So far, we have a Dove (Mage), Hawk (Swords/Beak-man), Falcon (Ranger) and Crow(Rogue). The team seems pretty varied. If any of you want to make edits to your character, add a post saying you've edited it.
I'll wait a while and see if anyone else wants to join. It'll be a short while, though.
Now that you have all completed you character, I will be posting the full in-battle movesets! You can also interact with the overworld in different ways, of course.
You will see a number next to each point. These are Skill Points. They mean that you will not learn points by leveling up - you will instead get Skill Points and trade them. Each character requires 24 SP for an entire moveset. Yes, I counted.

Name: Aspen
Age:15
Type: Parrot
Extra Points: +2 Luck, + 1 Charm
Appearance: A green Parrot with slightly darker feathers on his wingtips and hazel eyes. Has lighter claws than the average bird. Average build. Wears an emerald tunic as well.
Backstory: Ever since he was a kid, he has always enjoyed music and wishes go spread its blessings with the rest of the world. He has also been using it as a distraction from what troubles him inside.
Personality: Gentle, eager, and headstrong. Grows distant when he’s singing. However, a bit of a worrywart and can get a little stage fright every now and then due to his timid nature.
Strengths and Weaknesses: He only works support, and does not know any good direct attacks. He also can be quite timid when you first meet him, causing bits of stage fright every now and then, and is also stubborn.As said above, he is a worrier, as well. However, he has an exceptionally high range for a male, and he tries to use it to his advantage, not only for his job but also for distracting his mind.

 

A few final points to go over. You all have a beginning inventory. I will refine a few more details later.

Hawk: Starts off with Wooden Wings (essentially, armor that can also be used as weapons.)
Dove: Begins with Wooden Staff.
Lovebird: Irrelevant.
Crow: Starts off with twice the Orbs and a free Apple.
Parrot: Starts off with Gypsy’s Harp.
Penguin: Irrelevant.
Falcon: Starts off with Wooden Bow and 10 Arrow Stacks.
All: 10 Orbs (currency).
The RP will go up in around three days. I will be gone for a long time starting Saturday, but you can make conversation with the locals and maybe even stop by the bar.
We will also need to establish rules. Simple rules like no NSFW or taking over someone else’s character. If you wish, you can also come up with some rules of your own, such as certain ways to make your characters interact.

MURDERING THINGS Quests from NPCs, and Parrots can show off at local inns and make a buck or two. Crows can also steal Orbs from others. They can be found in chests. Sometimes actually dropped by wild creatures. Lucky characters can find some in hidden cracks and areas. Some NPCs will just ask to check out stuff you have and gift you with one for your time.
