There's a lot of Pokémon overshadowed by their more popular counterparts. Unfortunately for me, a lot of my favourites are targeted by this. My question is, what Pokémon you love are targeted by this? Ho-Oh and Delphox are overshadowed by lugia and greninja, which is a shame ;;
Palkia seems to be overshadowed by Giratina and Dialga, which I think is a shame. And Moltres by the other two Legendary Birds.
Ho-Oh? I'M LOOKING AT YOU TWINNIE. Smeargle and Farfetch'd seem overshadowed as well. Persian is less popular than Meowth, and it seems as though Phanpy and Donphan are forgotten. Reshiram seems overshadowed by Zekrom. I'M STILL LOOKING AT YOU TWINNIE. Riolu seems to be obscured by Lucario, but it's never the Pokémon's fault. It's usually the fan's unappreciation of the poor Pokémon. Edit: Also, Solgaleo by Lunaala. I don't know why so many people prefer the night than the day.
*cough RAICHU cough* I agree with most of these, especially Bulbasaur. Seriously, give dem Rais some luvins.
Spearow and Mankey. Don't really see many people using them on a R/B/Y team. I think they're overshadowed by Pidgey and Caterpie/Weedle
A lot of Johto Pokémon too. When was the last time you thought about Ledyba/Ledian, Cleffa, Natu/Xatu, Sudowoodo, Magcargo, Swinub/Piloswine, Remoraid/Octillery, Stantler, Tyrogue and Blissey?
Does anyone remember Finneon and Lumineon? I think those Pokémon are long forgotten XD Also Glaceon and Leafeon seem really overshadowed by the rest of eeveelutions Recently I decided to dust off my old Crystal cartridge and start a new game and I chose Chikorita because of that same reason. People never choose poor Chikorita so I thought I'd give it a try XD
Qwilfish never gets any love. Neither does Stunfisk, but they alright. Cool guys. And Stantler for other normal types, since there are simply better ones but Stantler is a cool hypnotic deer and wrecks the Ghost gym in Johto. (+puffy tail) Maractus is neat but overshadowed by the superior Cacturne.
I feel like Feebas gets overshadowed by Magikarp because of how much worse Magikarp is. Not that Feebas would be that popular anyway, but still.
I'm with the folks who said Chikorita on this one... Even the old Crystal Prima Guide acknowledged (multiple times) that Chikorita was the worst starter due to its type match-ups. It's a cute Pokémon, it just had some bad cards handed to it.
I've notived that Flareon gets overshadowed by all the other Eeveelutions. Druddigon is pretty often forgotten and just get surpassed by every other Dragon Types. And not to mention that Elgyem and Beheeyem gets forgotten a lot compared to all other Psychic types. (People just seem to really hate gen 5--)
I've used them many times! Mankey's early fighting move access is really handy and Spearow is probably a better choice than Pidgey in the long run, seeing as you get a slightly weaker Pidgeot sooner and access flying-type attacks from day one. Although I'm a design man, personally... I'm personally not overly fond of Johto's selection of 'mons. To be fair it's mostly Gen 1's leftovers. They're just as bad as each other, Feebas probably isn't helped by its difficulty to capture in the games it debuted in. I think Flareon is the best choice if you want to keep most of Eevee's design. It resembles it most. Druddigon's probably my favourite dragon. It looks like a cave troll! The stark colour difference in the design is because it's based off of the red-headed rock agama. You're not wrong about Gen 5. They were really determined to get as many Pokémon as possible out to reboot things which probably led to some artist's block, and the sheer number makes many get lost in the crowd. Anyway, on to my own contributions. Carnivine, anyone? Chingling? Chimecho, even? Goldeen? Seaking? Yes, Gen 1 had some forgettables, too! Bergmite and Avalugg. As for ones I love, nobody likes Barbaracle, and Dewgong, despite high levels of cuteness, is an ignore watered-down Lapras. Although my love for Dewgong only took form recently after I REALLY looked deep into those innocent lil' eyes.
