The first fix in this new update is one regarding the Poké Ball animations of Pokémon sent out in battle. Previously, when a Pokémon was sent out in battle in a Great Ball, Ultra Ball, Dusk Ball, Timer Ball, Repeat Ball, Net Ball, Nest Ball, Heal Ball, Luxury Ball, or Premier Ball, an animation would play while the Pokémon was released from it, but not on the first Pokémon sent out in battle. This has been fixed, and now the animation will play for the first Pokémon sent out in battle.

The cheat detection system in the game's online activities has also been enhanced, making more Pokémon hacked using external devices unusable in the PSS than before. It is currently unknown exactly what hacked Pokémon are unusable, but it is evident that the cheat detection is much more accurate than it previously was.

The update also fixes a bug where the sprite for Vivillon would not show up properly in the Friend Safari menu.

It has already been stated by Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori that X and Y will not have a software patch allowing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's new Mega Evolutions, Primal Formes, and moves to be compatible with X and Y, so this patch does not contain that data.

Any thoughts? I honestly wasn't even aware of that Poké Ball animation problem at all so this is news to me. Otherwise I really do wonder how the updated cheat detection system will affect players, especially given the popularity of PowerSaves and cloning.

SO THAT'S WHY I COULDN'T GET THE QUESTION MARK IN THE FRIEND SAFARI TO CHANGE! I seriously got so confused by that, but now I understand it. I didn't know about the Pokéball thing either though, but since I don't have the patch yet, I might see what it does now, patch it, and look at what changed.

Wow. I never even noticed the bugs they fixed besides the hacking thing. Well, I'm glad they did it. Now to get rid of that question mark on the friend safari
Hopefully all the hacking will be a little less evident now though. They were kind of ruining the game for me...

The last part about XY not getting a patch to allow compatibility with ORAS still sucks. I noticed the Safari bug long ago but I didn't pay much attention to it since it wasn't game breaking or really in the way. I never noticed that thing with the balls at all though.

Yay, that annoying bug with the Vivillions was annoying in the friend safari... Haha, Vivillions bug. Completion of all my friend safaris is possible now.

Didn't even know there was a problem. Either way, I'm glad it's fixed. I can imagine the Vivillon bug would have been pretty annoying.
Pokémon Blue never gets any software updates...
