Most mobile games (and a lot of MMOs) have a premise where you can earn things to advance in the game, or you can pay actual currency to achieve a shortcut. Some games that come to mind are League of Legends and Candy Crush Saga.

I think it's okay if it's a free game, but if a game is paid, I don't like the idea of DLC or paying to play a game. I miss when you could just unlock levels and progress your way through a game that way.

    What do you think?

I get that devs have to pay the bills, but at the same time, offer ways for free players to get the premium currency, so they too have a shot at the mega-powerful stuff

I think it's fine if the players who pay only get things that can also be achieved without money but with hard work instead. That's fine because those players deserve it for supporting the game, and it's not like they gained a really unfair advantage. However, I don't like pay to win games where there are OP things that you can only get with money.

For example, in a game that has a PvP, you can only get a certain OP weapon by paying $10. Now that person who bought the OP weapon goes into PvP and fights a user who has the best equipment obtainable without paying. The free user is more skilled than the paid user because he has an actual strategy, but he still loses to the paid user because his equipment isn't enough to stop the OP weapon. Now can we really say that it was a fair battle? Of course I'm not saying that users who pay aren't skilled, but situations like this happen a lot, and it makes me hate pay to win games.

I once played a game like this called Ninja Saga. I used to only be a free user and I lost almost every single PvP match I had against paid users. Then one day, I decided to buy some special skills only available through paying real money. Guess what? I started to win a lot of matches. I must admit, it really was fun winning, but then after some time, it gets boring because everything is too easy. I eventually stopped playing the game. That game is only an example, and there are many more games out there similar to that. Those games are the pay to win games I don't like.

    I absolutely HATE those things.
"Sorry, you're stuck. But don't worry, if you buy this booster now, you'll be fine!"
No, I find the idea of PAYING for such things absolutely ridiculous (I'm not trying to offend anyone). It's even more ridiculous when you've already paid for a game. Y pay again? :/

Best example? Well, I'd say that's PMD Gates to Infinity. I already spent 50 euros on the game (I have no idea how many dollars that is), and they're STILL letting us PAY for extra content? That's insane :/

League of Legends is in no way a pay to win game. Yeah you can buy a high elo account, but if you don't belong in that elo, you are going to drop pretty fast. The only thing you pay for are icons and skins which have no effect in-game other than aesthetics. As well as boosts to your account is you're under level 30 or an IP boost which gives you extra game currency to buy things other than skins. Otherwise League of Legends is completely free to play.

One game I know that is pay to win is Hearthstone. Doesn't seem like you'll be able to get any decent cards without paying a bit of money to get them. Then again RNG is a thing so it mostly comes down to luck imo.

I also hate these so much. I mean if it has some premium stuff that's okay, but sometimes it gets too absurd and you can just do nothing without paying.
    I stopped playing a lot of mmo's because of that, it's such a shame. : /

I think that this is really annoying. Honestly, I know that they want to make money, but I still don't think it is very fair to the people that want to play the game.

My thoughts exactly. It is completely unfair to have to pay for DLC when you already paid full price for a game. Free games are the exception to the rule, because they have to make their profit somehow. Retail priced games are already making more than enough profit from their creation(s) from the consumers.

I really don't like games like this. They feel really cheap, and it is sad to see that Nintendo might be going up this path. It is a great way for them to make money, true...but I don't think this is how video games should be played.

i hate games that are pay to win, dev's need money, but there is a point where buying a game you enjoy is far more better then paying too much for a game you might lose your account at some point, and not too mention pay to win games are hurtful for the fun of playing them, cause every once in awhile you feel like you need to use real money,

I don't like pay to win games, just because it's not about the skill, it's about the money.

But pay to advance are alright or "useless" micro transactions like in Team Fortress 2 or in Counter Strike: GO

Speaking of Candy Crush, I'd rather wait till a friend gave me a heart.
, I don't like to pay, at all. At all.
