From whence do you derive your 'energy', both physical and mental? Do you have a strong or weak threshold for physical or mental activity? How much can you do before you feel exhausted and have to 'recharge', so to speak?

I thought of this topic only just recently to post, largely because over the past few days I have felt oddly exhausted (though only physically) due to dealing with many groups of people, predominantly children, who are particularly draining on me.

Physical exhaustion occurs for me when I move about 'too fast' from place to place. Exactly what constitutes as being 'too fast' is vague and unclear, but I believe it to be caused by when I move or migrate about on various tasks, and do not give myself any window to slow down, contemplate, or 'breathe'.

Mental exhaustion is a lot rarer for me, as my mental prowess is much stronger; I do not tax my brain very much, and whenever I do, I know when to pace myself and take prescribed breaks, so as to not overload my mind. I am more at risk when exams or other particularly difficult assignments come along, since I have to devote a lot of time and personal energy to those tasks, but I ration my resources wisely enough so that mental exhaustion does not take me.

Where I get Energy: A nice sleep, being home with family, coffee (lol)
How long can I last: Not long >.< I have VERY low stamina (physically that is) but if what I'm doing isn't really draining then I can last a while.

I'm more weak physically then mentally I think. I need exercise I think ^^ Like if u just ask me to do puzzles all day I can but if you want labour don't ask!

I'm one of those nuts who will still have as much energy if they slept for ten hours or five hours, it doesn't matter to me. For me to be physically tired, I have to have done something that required physical exercise of above-average proportions, as I'm not in the best of shape right now. You'd actually be surprised how exhausting playing a saxophone for a long period of time can be.

Mental exhaustion definitely happens for me, especially when I get physically tired. When I'm mentally tired, people tend to notice as I say a lot of inappropriate things and I act strangely. I've been known to say some deeply offensive phrases that I regret afterwards. Sometimes, I just have to tell people that my mind is checking out when I'm doing work or something, because it sometimes happens. I'm typically okay, and this rarely happens, but it does, and it can be pretty funny.

I get my energy weirdly. Funny enough, I actually have chronic exhaustion. Apparently there's a level of exhaustion so intense that it's a medical condition, which I thought was actually kind of funny until I realized why the doctor was explaining it to me. I'm pretty much always running on no energy at all, so I have to make it work. I find that I don't need to expend much energy at all for mental activities, and I can power through needed physical activities by focusing my energy on my mental state to simply stay determined enough to carry on.

Though I am almost always exhausted, occasionally I get these odd flashes of energy. I always joke that I have two states: Awake Madness and Sleepy Madness. 9/10 times you talk to me, I'm Sleepy Madness. Randomly and rarely, I'll suddenly switch to full wakefulness for about half an hour at best. During this short period of time, I tend to have increased physical energy but completely ridiculous amounts of mental energy. One of my best friends would always joke around that Awake Madness was my "final form" and one day I'd switch to Awake Madness permanently and take over the world.

When I do have any amount of energy, I tend to burn through it extremely quickly. I'm the glass cannon of sorts, able to do a ton of things really well but not for long due to a lack of endurance.

Physically, I exhaust rather easily, but that's mostly due to a nerve malfunction of mine that makes it hard for me to physically stand quickly changing conditions. I can power through it, but it kinda makes my lungs shut down after a few minutes. Most of the time I don't do much physical stuff for that reason, even though exercising and pushing myself actually is something I enjoy.

Mentally, I honestly don't know how to answer this, mostly because I'm unsure of my mental energy levels. My thoughts are pretty much a mess; I often feel more like I'm trying to retain a semblance of order in my head more than I feel like I'm in much control of anything. I don't really know how to explain that well. It creates an environment in my mind where I feel constantly mentally tired, but I still actually think and respond quickly. I get incredibly easily distracted though, and I have a terrible short term memory. So I'm not sure if my brain is just constantly tiring itself out and I've just gotten used to that state, or if the sheer volume of stuff going on in my head is making my brain overwhelmed and simulating a sense of exhaustion without it actually existing. I don't even know if that can happen.

Oy, every time I try to make sense of what and how I think it just makes less sense. .-. Oh well.

I dunno where my energy comes from, I just usually have it... Basically, I might be tired when i first wake up, and attempt to roll out of bed, but within 5 minutes of getting up and moving around I'm basically up to full energy. No coffee or caffeine, I'm just ready to go, regardless of how much sleep I get. If its a long strenuous day I'll probably be tired towards the end, but most days I'm pretty energetic all day

I am one to get exhausted fairly easily particularly due to my lifestyle. It just so happens that I must wake up at 5:30 every morning in order to get ready for school and arrive early, as well as sleeping late in order to get homework tasks complete. I become tired everyday at school, unable to think properly and find difficulties processing information into my head, often leaving me confused on what to do. Being confused during mathematics is probably the worst to become stuck on, as then I find it difficult to solve even simple equations (once last year, I was tired up to the point where I struggled calculating 35 + 62). However, whenever I am excited or happy, I feel that my energy is surging higher than what I can control even when I am tired. I feel like I must bounce around, run, skip and jump! That happens especially when a Nintendo game is coming out.

Physically, my energy is terrible. While my busy life prevents me from performing my recommended amounts of physical activity, I am not fit, but maintain a healthy weight. My cardiovascular endurance is poor too, and for 2016, I am hoping I can get more active.

For some reason, I find myself happy to wake up early on holidays but not on school days when it should be the other way around. I do not know why this is, but for one, I need more relaxation.

Mental and physical energy? Yeah, those are two totally different things.

I've got plenty of physical energy to tap into. If we're talking about Fallout SPECIAL stats, I might only have a 4 or 3 in strength (if 5/10 is average among the adult human population), but my endurance is closer to 7. 8 on a good day. I can keep going and going doing things, even physically straining things, all daylight day long as long as I have food for the calories. That said, food is one of the things I need to rebound from physical exhaustion. Sleep is the other, and that's only after I stop. When I get that momentum going and have the fuel to keep going, I don't need to stop almost ever.

Mental exhaustion mostly comes from dealing with people and being expected to carry a conversation. Check this out of you don't know what I mean. I can talk to people for a long time about almost any subject, but I can't easily be the one to seek someone out or carry the conversation on my own, it's just part of who I am. If I go to a party and there's even ten people, I'll more likely find a cat to talk to than a new human to talk to. I rebound with alone (or mostly alone) time, and unfortunately it takes roughly double the social time to recover. I'm at a party for three hours, I need to be alone for six afterward. It's not easy.
