    For those who have any experience in networking, you've probably heard of the command, or at least seen this before;

    [IMG]

    It's the humble 'ping' command! Y'know, the thing that lets you determine if a particular device or computer is online and reachable. Or, as Google defines it;

    So have you ever used it to send test packets before? Have you used the ping command to adjust the MTU values on your router/video games console? (Or am I the only one who had to do this...?)

    Have you ever used the 'tracert' command, to see how many jumps a packet of info, leaving your network, needs to make in order to get to the destination address? (e.g. Google in the case below)

    If not, give it a whirl yourself if you feel up to learning a few things~

    I use the Ping command from time-to-time. Usually to check whether the internet is functioning properly, or doing ipconfig /release on school computers to disconnect them from the school network. Causes quite a lot of problems with that particular computer, since they all use network storage with disallowed access to the C: drive. Easy way of getting out of work, if you want to do that. :P
