What is your experience with "pixeling" art? Do you animate your pixel art? How do you usually go about pixeling? Share your techniques and experiences here!

Of course I sprite! Everyone knows that already, most likely. :P
On rare occassions I will attempt to animate sprites, in fact here's one I made a while ago:
[IMG] (Choppy and horrible, but can't be too bad for my first attempt at animating. :s )
Well, I haven't actually posted any of my sprites in my Portfolio yet... Oh well, you saw em' here first! :3

I simply sprite by drawing the outline first, so I know what I'm doing, then going over with flat colours, and afterwards add in shadows. Alternatively I'll just stitch together other sprites, depending on my motivation. :P

As some people already know, I am an avid fan of pixel art! It's what I do best in regards to anything arty. I've never tried animating them though... well, that's a little bit of a lie, back when I was working on a texture pack, I made a few animated textures on that.

But in general, I'm more of a "set scene" kind of guy.

I love pixelling (when im in the mood for it, haha).
No matter what form of art it is, my hands detest
lineart, so I do a sketch, block in colours, and refine.

I have quite a few friends who do amazing pixel art, and they all have pros and cons in their styles. For example, A has beautiful limited colour palettes for even the most complex pieces, B does have gorgeous pixels but anti-aliases too much.

Many pixel artists struggle with limited palettes, but that's one of the reasons why pixel art is so fun.

There's been alot debate over using 'dirty' tools to pixel-- (opacity, blurring, etc) but honestly I think it's fine if it's just to eyedrop colours. If they're using the dirty tools directly on the piece itself... I guess it might look nice but.. if the cp count goes overboard it isn't really pixelling imo XD

About animating... (;´∀`) Never really dug too deep in it, so I don't know what to say.

    I adore spriting, so much~
I'm still mediocre as it is, as I started a couple months back, but I'm very good! I've always wanted to animate, but I really don't know how.
I have no specific style of spriting, as I'm still learning how. But, I like to experiment~

I do feel like spriting is something you get better at the more you do it actually! ((・x・)) I never put in enough time, but I'm sure I'll need to in the future to make some actual progress on an RPG I'm making. Animating sprites is more difficult to me than animating a full fledged drawing- mostly because the pixels have to be so precise! Pixels are all about precision, I think.

I actually started my art career by spriting on MS Paint. xD

IMO, it's pretty fun, especially once you start making cool things people like. :D

I haven't pixeled much to be perfectly honest. I really don't have the patience to go from one pixel to the next over and over again. It's frustrating since every pixel makes a huge difference. I'd love to keep going with it if I had the patience, but sadly I do not.
