Pokémon - Fabled Realms Version

"Jaaade." Mom called out as she was washing dishes in the kitchen while Dad was trying to fix the table. "You awake yet?" She looked up at the stairs but there was no response from her daughter. The red haired woman sighed as she turned to her Haunter. "Shamus, can you go upstairs and wake her up? She's going to be late if she keeps sleeping."

Her Haunter gave her a wide grin as he jolted upwards, through the ceiling and floated his way over to the sleeping Jade. He poked at her a couple of times but she still didn't wake up. Sighing, Shamus poked his head into her dreams. She was having fun, riding a bike along a large mountain side. It was actually quite beautiful. However, that wasn't why he was here, snooping into her dreams. Shamus floated behind her and then shouted "HAUNTER!" This made her jump as she fell off her bike.

In reality, she screamed and flailed as she threw herself off the bed. The sheets went flying in all sorts of directions as her pillow was launched at Shamus' face. It went through him and all he could do was laugh hysterically at her. The reaction was priceless. "Haw Haw Haw!"

"Jerk." She threw a stuffed animal at him, but that too went through his ghostly body. He also continued to laugh at her. Jade, slammed her hands into the side of her bed as she looked to her clock which had been moved to the side during her flailing. "OH NO! Shamus! I'm going to be late!!!" With a burst, she shot her self up and dove into her closet. PJ pants went flying out of the door while Shamus just stood there laughing the whole time. Her reactions in the morning were always priceless.

Jade shot out of the small room and slammed the door behind her. Without saying another word to her mother's Haunter, she grabbed for her backpack, which had been prepacked the day before. Quickly she fumbled down the stairs. Once she made it to the kitchen, her abrupt entrance made her father jump and bump his head against the bottom side of the table.

"OW!" He yelped as his Snowrunt tipped over on her side and rocked around in a circle. She too was flailing as much as Dad was. "Morning Jade."

"Hi Dad. Hi Mom." She grabbed a bagel and stuffed it in her mouth.

"You know, today is when you get your first Pokémon right?" Mom turned to her. "Are you sure you don't want the baby Snorunt?" She pointed to the teetering Snorunt.

Jade glanced down to her. Unfortunately, the two did not get along at all. She looked back to Mom. "Nah. She should probably stay home with you guys! And-her mother. But uh-I'm gonna get going now, before Shamus decides to Hypnotize me to sleep and perform Dream Eater on me or something." She scowled at the Haunter who had given her a cheeky grin. "Yeah, I'm talking about you. Ya old fart."

"Now be nice to Shamus. He's my first Pokémon and a good alarm clock. Just think of it this way, he could barge in and just transform every dream you have into a nightmare." Mom said as she slapped the wash clothe onto the counter and turned to her daughter.

"Uh-yeah. See you all later! I'll give you a call on my PokeGear!" She hugged the two of them and decided to give Shamus a high-five even though she was mad at him. Jade turned to the Snorunt who gave her the death glare of the century. She waved good-bye to her and ran out the door.

"Alright adventure! Here I come!" Jade grinned as she shut the door behind her and took off towards obtaining her first Pokémon.

 

Nate woke up early in the morning in his small upstairs bedroom. He got out of bed, got dressed in his favorite black pants and red shirt, grabbed his backpack and ran downstairs. Today was the day, he going to go to the Explorers Guild and get his first Pokémon! That wasn't all though, once he joined the guild he would be able to start doing missions to help people in need. The week before Nate had finally gathered up enough courage to ask his parents if he could, and they had said yes. Nate was so excited he could hardly sleep the nights up to today. He slipped on his new shoes and rushed out the door, saying bye to his parents as he left. They waved and said goodbye back, but Nate had already left. "Today is the day", Nate said to himself, "I'm finally getting my very own Pokémon!"

After a short sprint down to Guild Beach, Nate arrived at his destination. His long brown hair waved in the gentle breeze. He stared out at the ocean for a while, which seemed to calm his nerves. Then he turned his head towards the guild. Nate had seen the guild all his life as Seashell town was so close to it, but he had never gotten this close. He walked up towards the guild, which didn't look very big, with a huge grin on his face. He would finally get to see what the guild was like!

 

Persephone was rushing through her job in the morning. She needed to find at least one big pearl from a shellder or clampearl before she could leave for the morning. After today, she hoped to be part of the new trainer guild and only have to help her mother when everything was quiet. She found a few pearls, but she couldn't find the lucky clam Pokémon she was searching for.

She jumped out of the water and started complaining, "Mom, I can't find any of these stupid big pearls."

"Don't worry about it, I was just seeing if you would still work as hard when you got to the guild as you do now. I think you're fine to go. Go inside and have breakfast." Persephone dried off as quick as she could and made herself some toast. She said her goodbyes to her mum and dad, who wasn't out fishing that morning, and ran off to the guild.

<Please let there be some water types left in there, please. Preferably not that weird turtle thing or the otter>. She reached the guild and adjusted her left hairclip as she knocked on the door.

 

"ONCH zooooooooooooo..... ONCH zoooooooo...", was the sound Kiko went while in his sleep. Finally, one of his old 8 Pokémon, Minun, couldn't take it.
Minun just went over there and just delivered a hard SLAP, which was pretty loud, and it actually did wake up Kiko.
Next, he just pulled Kiko's head to a sign advertising the guild giving out a new Pokémon. "OH! I'm late! Thank you Minun!", Kiko quickly said, and hugged the little Minun, who used Thundershock on him as a joke.
Minun got a another Pokémon to crack up, with was his best friend, Plusle. Kiko then quickly got up, changed into his usual clothes, and ran downstairs, but Mom was stopping the way.
"Congratulations! I always knew you could have another journey, and you diddd! Oh, I'm so proud of you!
Kiko just did his usual sigh. After all of what Mom said was said, she gave Kiko his pouch. "Thanks, Mom!" Kiko said, just as he was going to go outside, but was interrupted by a question from Dad, which was which one he'll choose.
"Bulbasaur! That thing is so fierce and cute at the same time!", was what Kiko said, before he was about to just take off, but was once again, interrupted. "Kiko! Don't forget your allowance!", Mom said, which remined Kiko to get his lone $150 dollars. Once he got that, Kiko quickly said, "Now, I'm off! Bye!", not wanting to get interrupted ONCE again. When he was FINALLY outside, he started to freak out! "I can't wait to get a new Pokémon!", he shouted excitedly, and then started to run to the Explorer's Guild.
Fun fact: Kiko's other 6 Pokémon that havent been said are Zigzagoon, Kirlia, Marshtomp, Shiftree, Torkoal, Pikachu, and Slowpoke.

 

"Come onnnn Farrah, 20 more seconds of that back bend!" Farrah's father cheered, as she was finishing up that day's gymnastic practice. She groaned, a little annoyed that her father was so.. WOO all the time. He was all about training and getting stronger and faster. He'd been pointing out that she was being lazy with her techniques today, but she couldn't help it; she was getting her first Pokémon today! It was all she could think about and she was ready to get out of the house and go get it. Though she would miss her father.

Farrah lifted herself up off her back and on her two feet again, seeing as the exercise was over. She groaned again, glad her exercise was over. She glanced at her father caught off guard because he was currently walking on his hands, a cheeky grin on his face. "Farrah! Laaast test. You must walk on your hands to the front door and attempt to open the door with your feet!" Farrah gave her father an exasperated look.

"Are you serious?!" She squealed. Her father was outrageous. Luckily she was barefooted, but she didn't know if she could open a door like that! "Dad, I wanna get my Pokemo-"

"Farrah! That is SENSEI Dad to you during training!" He said, with a feminine gasp and a humored tone."

"SENSEI DAD. I want to go get my Pokémon!" Farrah whined, becoming a little annoyed. "Get on your hands then, you can do this!" He said to her. "Your cousin Lee would've been downstairs and had the door open by now.." He commented, thinking about her cousin. He was just as crazy as her dad when it came to getting stronger. She and Lee were his star students, and Farrah didn't like being compared to her cousin! "FINE." She said, She got on her hands, balancing herself with sheer determination as she headed for the door.

Surprisingly, she got the front door open. However, as soon as she did, she landed on flat on her face on the front porch. She groaned, grabbing her stuff and and an orange after standing. She looked at her dad as he began to over dramatically cry. "Farrah..my star child and pupil..make me proud! Be the best you can be! And let them know who your handsome devil trainer was!" He added with a sparkly smile and wink. "Get a Pokémon that has the fighting spirit and speed! I will train it as well! Get a Chimchar!" Her father called, his voice booming with excitement. He clung to his daughter as he dramatically cried.

She patted his back with a small smile and hugged him. she'd miss him too, but it's not like she wouldn't come visit! It shocked her that her father took interest in Pokémon; a Chimchar. She pondered on the Pokémon. It was cute, and strong. It's final form being awesome! She would consider the Pokémon when she arrived at the Guild. "Dad.. don't cry.. I'll be back to visit before you know it. I'll get a strong Pokémon, I promise!" She let go of her father, kissing his cheek before heading down the path leading out of Seashell village. "I'll make you proud,I promise! Be back soon, I love you!" She called, thinking of her mother. I'll make you proud, too, Mom.

Farrah's father was still crying on his knees on the porch. "D-Don't forget your daily stretches and exercises! Eat a well balanced meal! Remember you are the daughter of a handsome devil!" The crying man then claimed he wouldn't stop doing push-ups until he stopped crying. Farrah giggled at him, deciding she'd miss the overdramatic man.

It was a beautiful morning. She smiled at her familiar village. Beautiful ocean. sandy shores, palm trees and a bright sun. She'd miss the place. She'd loved the water! Farrah tiny feet stepped onto the main path leading to the Guild and her excitement grew. How many more people my age will be there? She wondered. Will many of them come from Seashell? What if the Pokémon I want is taken? She worried over so many things! Farrah fidgeted with her blonde hair as she got closer to the Guild.

On her way there, she glanced around at all the other people heading that way as well. Some faces she recognized from her village. However, the femine blue-eyed girl was too shy to ask if they were heading to the guild as well. Besides; she'd find out when she arrived, if they were heading there too! She gave small waves to them, then picked up her pace to the guild. She sprinted into a run. She was too excited to walk!

Arriving at the guild, Farrah thought it looked so small. It was nothing like she pictured. She bit her lip, a little let-down by the small size of the building. Walking to the front steps, she noticed an old man and a boy from her town. His name was Nate. As she walked up, she heard the old man ask if Nate was there to join the guild. She shyly raised her hand. "Excuse me, sir. B-but I'm here to join the guild, too." She figured that's what Nate was doing. "My name is Farrah. I'm 17." The old man never asked for their age, but she figured she'd tell him incase there was an age requirement.

She whispered "Hi Nate," to the brown-headed boy next to her.

 

Kiko had ran for about 10 minutes until he finally got to the Explorer's guild. He wasn't that fast of a runner, to be honest. He easily runs out of stamina, cause he doesn't eat that much. Though, when he got here, he had accidently skipped it and then noticed that he had 5 minutes later.
"Yes! I'm here!", Kiko said when he went back to the guild. As he was about to walk up to the old man, he stopped, and noticed something.
He hadn't expected the guild to be so small, after all, a few people are going to live in it! After that thought, though, he had then went up to the old man, and like the others, said that he wanted to join the guild as well.
"I'm Kiko, age 19!", he added on afterwards. He had then said to the other 2 people joining the guild a simple hi, and then wished them good luck on their missions.

 

"Um hello there", Nate replied to the old man. "This is my first time at the guild, and I was wondering if I could join. My name is Nate by the way." Just then a blonde girl him. He recognized her from Seashell town, her name was Farrah. The man asked Farrah the same questions as he had asked Nate. She answered the questions and threw in her age for good measure. The Farrah proceeded to whisper Nate a hello which he responded to with more whispering. "Hi Farrah, are you as exited and nervous as I am?"

 

Excited, this crazy kid had ran the entire way to the Guild. Sadly, if she had passed anyone she didn't notice them. Her excitement of getting her first Pokémon and going on her first journey was something just too great to not think about. "Yes! I can't believe I get to do this! I bet Mom and Dad were this excited when they first started their journey!" She squealed and jumped a couple of times.

It only seemed minutes before she made it to the guild. There were other trainers already standing at the front entrance. She was a tad bit late compared to the others, but nothing too bad! Once she obtained her breath, she made way over to the other excited trainers. "Hello everyone. My name is Jade!" She greeted them all.

Jade placed her hands on her hips, trying to fit in with all the cool looking trainers. This is when she began to wonder if she would be a good trainer like her parents? And where would she be able to obtain Ghost and Psychic Pokémon? She began to wonder a little bit before she snapped out of her daze. After all, no need to be a day dreamer. Right? There are people here!

 

Tenkei Woke up late as usual on one of the most important days of his life,getting his first Pokémon. Tenkei spent most of his life with Pokémon but now he was going to get to get one of his own! "Tenkei! Wake Your lazy butt up! You have to go to the guild and get your first Pokémon!" His dad yelled in his ear. Tenkei arose quickly and fell out of his hammock with a loud thud. "Darn it i over slept again. It will be okay though! I know a short cut to the guild. He said smiling as he picked up his surf Board and grabbed his toothpaste and toothbrush. "Oh Great there is a shortcut through the water?" His dad said very hesitantly. "Yup! Cya around Dad." he said as he quickly dashed out of the door. "Ah..just like his mother." His father said smiling as he went back into the house. Tenkei quickly ran onto the beach and noticed there wasnt a wave going towards the guild today so he called upon an old friend. "Oh Wailord!!" And suddenly a wailord happily jumped and dove into the water causing a wave going in the guilds direction. Not too big but big enough to ride all the way there. "Thanks Buddy! I will See you around!" He said smiling as he rode the wave to the guild.
When He arrived at the guild he noticed there were people there already and he was happy to meet new Travelers. His Adventure was about to begin.

 

"I'm super nervous, and excited! I still am undecided on which starter to choose," Farrah whispered to Nate, as Ivan rummaged through his papers. He asked why he should give them a Pokémon, and Farrah's heart swelled.

"I love Pokémon! I grew up with Pokémon helping take care of me. I promised my mother I'd be the best that I could.." she trailed off, a feeling of sadness washing over her. She quickly brought herself back to reality. "Please sir, I love Pokémon! I'm sure we all do." She said, glancing around at the trainers who had also gathered.

What Pokémon did she want? Her dad wanted her to get Chimchar, but.. "Turtwig! I'd like the Turtwig, please.." She said. Woah, Turtwig?! Farrah thought. Where did that come from? He was a very slow Pokémon-something her father told her not to get. But a picture of her mother flashed into her head. Her mom had told her to try her best, and use Pokémon that she wanted to use. Farrah smiled, knowing she'd made the right decision to pick Turtwig.

Then she remembered the second part of his question; about joining the guild! "I've decided to join the guild because I feel it will help me reach my full potential as a trainer and a person! Not only will I be able to train my Pokémon on missions, but my body as well! Me and my Pokémon will make an awesome duo for the guild.."

 

Why should he get a Pokémon? Nate pondered the question for a moment and then, after Farrah, answered. "Its always been my dream to have a Pokémon! I've watched them out on the beach and seen the bird Pokémon of the air. I was always afraid my parents would say no if I asked for one, but I finally did it... I asked them. I am confident I can love and care for a Pokémon and I will make it my best friend!"

Then he answered the second question. "I came to the guild because I really want to help people as there are many bad things that are happening in the world right now. I know that together with my Pokémon we can make the world a better place!"

Now the big question was which Pokémon would he choose. Oshawott, Treeko, Totodile? Which one would be right for him? Nate had done a lot of research on the starter Pokémon and new what they all looked like and what types they were, but he had never really thought through which he wanted most. "Wait I know!" Nate blurted out, "I'm going with Torchic!" Nate had always been fond of the fire type, and he knew Torchic would be a great choice.

 

As when Professor Ivan and his assistant came out, his assistant wanted the group of trainers to ask a few questions; why we deserve the Pokémon, and why we came.
"Well, I think I deserve a Pokémon because I adore them and like them, and I'd give it what it needs, considering I keep about 10 at my home.", Kiko said, and also added on, "And why I came to this guild, I retired after beating the Hoenn league, but whenever I heard about this guild giving free Pokémon, I couldn't resist joining, and it made me want to have another adventure."
What starter Kiko wanted was already made up in his mind. "Oh, and can the Pokémon I obtain be a Bulbasaur? They're pretty fierce but adorable at the same time!", Kiko had asked the professor and his assistant.
