We all have those Pokémon we love and ever since Smash came out, there have been numorous suggestion for mon’s as smashers. Most Pokémon have gotten in for their popularity like Lucario and Greninja while others got in for them being timeless classic mon’s like Pikachu and Charizard (and some how Pichu got in). How ever, who do YOU want as Pokémon reps Smash Bros. (Prefferebly as regional reps) Here are mine: Kantonhas enough reps Feraligatr for gen 2 and the fact that he’s be a different fighter as opposeded to the other 2 water types. He’d be fast on land, early kill power, and he’d be a heavy weight. He’d have bad air game though (kind alike Zard). However, the bigjaw Pokémon would be different. He’d have more bite based attack’s. His neautral B could be a Wario bite or even a special water move. Side special could be surf. His up special could be water fall. And his down special could be thrash or super power. Gen three could be Sceptile Gen 5 could be krokodile and Haxorus (as suggested by a certain candle) That’s all I got. Post what kind of mon’s you want for smash below!
I'd stick to Pokémon from Pokken Tournament. Spoiler Out of all of these, I'd like Blaziken to be in Smash. I don't think it should be region-based, but rather ability-based.
Honestly, I never really asked for a specific Pokémon in Smash Bros because I don't know how they would work. Though I would love Breloom to be in there. I think its the perfect fit for Smash.
I think Mewtwo is the only playable Pokémon in Smash that wasn't introduced to promote the latest games, which means that Gen 7 Pokémon are the only ones likely to get any representation. Sadly. Out of the Gen 7 Pokémon, I think Incineroar and Decidueye would be the best choices. They'd offer unique playstyles compared to the characters already in the game. Incineroar would be a grappler, focused on grabs and throws, which we don't really have much of in Smash despite being a staple of other fighting games. Decidueye would be a long-range fighter using his archery skills.
Thanks for that Gen V shout out But you still included Sceptile over Blaziken you pleb. And seeing as we're absolutely getting a Gen VII rep, I'm pretty confident it'll be Decidueye due to it's popularity and how unique it'll be as a fighter. But with that logic, I woudn't be surprised to see Lycanroc instead. I also think Golurk would be an interesting possible choice for Gen V mainly do to the fact that we've only ever had one heavyweight Pokémon. I also still stand by Krookodile or Haxorus.
Raichu. We've already had Pichu and Pikachu now we need Raichu. I think he would be a light, since he does weigh 66 pounds, heavy hitter. His attack stat is pretty high. His final smash should be different from Pikachu and Pichu's. Not just a Volt Tackle. 2 thunderbolts going from him, across the screen, then back. But, it doesn't go through platforms.
Well since Pichu being taken out is not gonna happen since "EVERYONE IS HERE" (And besides I don't encourage them taking out fighters), I dunno how likely Raichu is. I don't think my boy Samurott would make it (Though if he did that's be awesome), so I'd say Decidueye would be the next best mon. Final Smash would be obvious in his Z-Move, Sinister Arrowraid, and I do think he could be a ranged fighter depending on how creative they try to be with his Spirit Shackle arrows.
True. Incineroar would be likely too. A heavy fighter. His Final Smash would be his Z-Move, Malicious Moonsault, too.
I think the fully evolved Grass starter of gen 8 will be DLC and we won’t get any new Pokémon in the base roster. Though I would love Decidueye or Tapu Koko.
I'm sure that at least one of the unannounced characters will be Pokémon. Here's why: Each new Smash game has brought about new Pokémon: 64: Pikachu, Jigglypuff Melee: Pichu, Mewtwo Brawl: Lucario, Pokémon Trainer (Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle) 4: Greninja, Charizard as individual 5: ?? My guesses would be either Incineroar or Decidueye, seeing as they are both popular choices. They could even do one of the new legendary Pokémon. Either way, I feel like a Generation 7 Pokémon is on its way.
