Evergreen looked at Snowy in disbelief. She couldn't be a majū! Turning toward Amanita, she took a fighting stance. "Maria, make sure you take care of Kirby-san! We'll take it from here."

Maria opted to feed Kirby some more curry to keep up his strength. Maybe she ought to cook some medical curry later as a future consumable.

Flamberge immediately leaped to her nonexistent feet when she saw the new group of probably-majū in front of her. Grabbing her sword with one hand, she prepared the flame on its - wait no no BAD IDEA BERGE! It took most of her concentration to drain the fires off before she began her bladework against the Umbreon.

 

(We still have Gus, Viridi, Blacky, and "his" Honedge, though the last one can wait until Blacky's HP reaches the yellow zone.)

It took Blacky and his "sword" a good while until he/they reached the forest and caught up with Amanita... only to be greeted by Flamberge's bladework. In response, he/they tried to parry the blow with the sword (or rather, the sword Honedge moved on their own to do the parrying).

(Tbh I'm not that sure whether I should count Blacky and Honedge as one, hence "he/they" instead of just "he".)

 

Evergreen was more surprised that a shiny Umbreon had appeared out of the blue just like that, and was already at odds with Flamberge. Wait, was that Umbreon fighting on its legs? No way. This was getting more puzzling to Evergreen by the minute. First talking Pokémon, then gijinkas, and now a sword-wielding Umbreon walking upright? If Evergreen wasn't fighting, she would have wanted to sleep this over, but the fight had to come first.

Seeing her first attack parried by her opponent, Flamberge growled and swung again. If things kept up this way, she'd have no choice but to bring out her blaze...

Snowy

(...stray attack? I had Snowy apologize to Gus and Viridi because she's gonna attack Amanita, not them.)

"Ah, <insert a choice word here>. SORRY!!!" Snowy panicked so hard upon realizing that her Freeze-Dry, which was supposed to be for Amanita, ended up hitting Gus and Viridi instead. Nor did she realize that her Snow Warning had already kicked in until now because it took a good while for the snow to reach the inner part of the forest. And now that she did, the ice-type summoned an Aurora Veil, then resumed her Freeze-Dry that's once again aimed at Amanita (and hopefully hit her for real). She also tried to maneuver in a way that Amanita's attacks (hopefully) would end up hitting Blacky instead. Because, y'know, revenge.

Airin

Seeing Snowy's loosened guard for a brief moment, Airin quickly tucked her bow back and rushed forward to the bigger Mushroom Pokémon. She then attacked her with two rounds of Dual Wingbeat, all while skillfully avoiding Snowy's Freeze-Dry while she's at it.

(Friendly reminder: a round of Dual Wingbeat hits twice. Plus, it's Airin who's avoiding Snowy's attack. Whether Amanita does too is up to RNG.)

Brenna

Meanwhile, Brenna cradled Kirby to the closest she could get to Whispy and beckoned Maria to come along. "U~isupī-san, kodomotachi no sewa o shitekudasai," [Whispy-san, please take care of the kids,] she asked the sentient tree and explained, "Ano Morobareru to Burakkī wa majū desu. Karera ni Kābī o motaseru koto wa dekimasen." [Those Morobareru (Amoonguss) and Blacky (Umbreon) are majū. We can't let them have Kirby.]

With that out of the way, Brenna went back to the campsite-turned-battlefield, then launched a Bubble Beam and Moonblast, both at Blacky. Pretty ironic for the latter considering Umbreon is known as the Moonlight Pokémon.

Blacky

So now Blacky couldn't seem to focus on Flamberge anymore. Viridi's Stone Edge, Brenna's Bubble Beam and Moonblast, as well as his internal fight (yes, Blacky's fighting against himself too) dizzied him big time. So much that he had to randomly launch Night Slash twice at a random, unlucky someone.

(I'm letting 122 decide/randomize Blacky's target(s) for these two turns. It may be a same target or two different ones, whatever.)

Taranza

(I was originally planning to have Blacky arrive at the battle's second turn. But with Flamberge attacking him right away, the late battler here would be Taranza instead.)

Okay, big welp. Everything happened too quickly that the campsite turned to a battlefield before Taranza could digest what even was going on. By the looks of it, the sentient mushroom (Amanita) and the upright-walking black cat crossed with moon rabbit (Blacky) were the hostile ones here. And out of the two, the mushroom one would be more dangerous thanks to all the poison she's been spewing. With that in mind, Taranza threw the half-eaten apple on his hammock and joined in the fray with his Magic String Shot at the mushroom fella, not intending to stop until she's completely trapped in a cocoon pod.

(Tl;dr, Taranza uses Magic String Shot at Amanita for 2 turns straight. It deals damage as much as Taranza's basic attack. If both turns hit, Amanita would be trapped in a cocoon pod and won't be able to move until freed.)

 

(Man, so many attacks happening at once!! Also had to use a separate RNG for Blacky's targets. Long post, @SAF? Try this for size!)

Maria was very concerned for Kirby's wellbeing and so followed Brenna to take cover. That meant the curry would have to be left alone for a bit, and just in case, Maria took a bowl of curry noodle with her and took cover near Whispy. Evergreen took a fighting stance and prepared for the next round of attacks.

"Don't worry, Kirby-san! We'll make sure you won't get hurt," Maria said, while hearing the raging battle not to far away.

This isn't looking good, Flamberge mentally muttered as she stumbled back from that last blow. With a last attempt to fight without the danger of accidental arson, she flew forwards with a Berge Rush at the swordsman.

Brenna

Is it just me or are his eyes flickering? curiosity ensued upon seeing the Umbreon's eyes repeatedly flickering between the majū-like red and shiny Umbreon's default yellow. Seems like the majū (?) himself was fighting against whatever trance he was in. Brenna quickly shook her head and looked around to see if her friends, old and new, were alright...

Oh no.

It wasn't just Kirby who was poisoned -- Snowy and Evergreen too. And out of everyone involved, Snowy's wound was the worst. But on the plus side, a mysterious someone (Taranza) managed to trap the Amoonguss in a cocoon pod. Hopefully that could let the others focus on the more troublesome Umbreon.

Still, the party would less likely manage if Brenna herself didn't do something. "Fletcher! Cover me!" she called out to her Decidueye friend while casting a Life Dew to hopefully improve the party's condition.

Snowy and Airin

Seems like a newcomer to their side was something neither Snowy nor Airin had expected in the heat of the battle. This newcomer turned out to be a floating creature who greatly resembled a spider. Ariados? Nah. He walked (or rather, floated) upright. Galvantula? He's way less hairy than that. Araquanid? No, duh. He didn't even have water bubbles on his head. Before they could speculate even more, though...

"Fletcher! Cover me!" Airin heard her Primarina friend calling out to her. She and Snowy left Amanita the cocoon alone and came to Brenna's aid with their Shadow Sneak and Aqua Tail, respectively.

Blacky

With his consciousness raising and drowning at a somewhat uncertain rate, everything became even messier for Blacky's psyche. It sure was quite a battle between the Honedge's attempt to keep the mind control and his willpower to break it that seemed to get stronger after every hits. Thanks to it, he ended up randomly unleashing a Sonic Boom with such a rather erratic movement.

(Again, I'm letting 122 decide/randomize Blacky's target for this turn, though it might end up being an idiot move should the Sonic Boom end up hitting Airin. Also, judging from his current HP, I'm trying to invoke the Honedge separation here.)

Taranza

Yes!!! Taranza was filled with satisfaction now that his persistent Magic String Shot did its job. With the mushroom gal trapped in the cocoon and everyone else directing their attacks on the black cat-rabbit guy, the young wizard kicked the cocoon pod (Pod Kick) straight to... what did they call again? Blacky? (Spoiler: Taranza briefly overheard Brenna's plea to Whispy earlier while launching his first Magic String Shot)

(Also tl;dr, Taranza uses Pod Kick on Amanita's cocoon directed straight to Blacky. Blacky can miss, but Amanita can't.)

Thanks to the barrage of attacks directed at him, the sword Blacky had been wielding was thrown out from his paw... and actually moved on its own. Turned out that the "sword" was actually a Honedge majū all along. "Wait a minute," Snowy couldn't believe her eyes at this unexpected sight. "A Pokémon wielding another Pokémon? That's new." And yes, it wasn't just Snowy who was surprised. Taranza and the gijinkas were surprised too -- though the former's surprise mainly stemmed from the fact that the sentient sword itself was also a majū. And things were making even less sense when the weakened Umbreon, now with his natural yellow eyes instead of the majū-like red ones, launched a Dark Pulse at the Honedge -- his own weapon.

"I don't think this guy even wanna be a majū..." Brenna mused while still focusing on her Life Dew (since she didn't have any attacks strong enough to deal with the Honedge). It did confuse Airin and Snowy a little, but one look at Blacky's eyes seemed to be enough to explain everything. With that in mind, Airin shot a Spirit Shackle and Snowy pulled a Blacky with her own Dark Pulse, both aimed at the Honedge. And Taranza? He repeatedly slammed Amanita's pod (Pod Slamabam on Amanita) this time around.

 

Seeing the barrage of projectiles coming her way, Flamberge leaped away from the swordsman she'd been duelling with - now he didn't seem to be an opponent any longer. After the round of attacks from her allies, soon the sword wouldn't be either.
She'd catch up on the details later - ending the battle one way or another came first. The mushroom was taking a toll on the others earlier, so she prepared a Berge Slash ready for it.

As for the Honedge, seems like they didn't see their wielder's betrayal coming. That, and the barrage of attacks caught them off guard before they could retaliate to Blacky's Dark Pulse, so all they could do was to launch a Fury Cutter in their rage. And looks like said attack was heading Neptune's way...
