Group RP Pokémon + Kirby: Fallen Stars (IC)

After Evergreen had received her dose of antidote, she was no longer sweating. "Whew. That's much better," she said. "Arigato, Yabui-san," [Thank you, Mr. Yabui.]

At once, she had enough energy to use her translator field once more, which should make her companions' lives easier. Now the field was able to be used by everyone's thoughts around her, so that speech could be properly translated and enter the minds of the receiver. "Right. It looks like we're back on our feet, eh? We could probably bring Kirby-san to the camp for some sleep. I bet it'll be daybreak before long."

And speaking of the camp, Maria was still listening on the conversation. "If this Dedede has been summon the majū though, wouldn't that mean we shouldn't tell him? But someone has to inform the public." It was pretty much in line with Flamberge's opinion, then Maria had an extra though. "Maybe we should investigate this 'Nightmare' or whatever is left of the company. Something should be lying around that we can use or check."

After thanking the doctor in three different languages (English for Snowy, ASL for Airin, Japanese for Brenna), the group made their way back to the campsite. They ended up making more than enough antidote for any future cases of poisoning. Yes, the group took some with them and left the rest with Dr. Yabui just in case. And yes, they arrived just in time to hear Taranza translating what Meta Knight said to Maria.

"Actually, Meta Knight's right on the money about that," Brenna chimed in, much to Taranza's surprise. "Remember that Malamar fight? The king and his right hand man asked what the--" she paused, not wanting to swear in front of Maria. "...I mean, what's even going on back there. The king didn't remember ordering anything and the snail guy even said the transporter should be broken already."

"Did they have a suspicious repairman or something coming there?" Airin wondered via sign which was translated as a direct question to Meta Knight: "Metanaitokyō, fushin'na shūrikō ga shiro ni yattekimashita ka?" [Sir Meta Knight, did a suspicious repairman come to the castle?]

 

"But if we're talking about magic strong enough to teleport, it wouldn't be out of the question to think that Nightmare could teleport over to fix it, or magic it back into working from a distance..." Flamberge's own magic wasn't exactly complicated - snap her fingers, and boom, fire. Lots of fire. But given how the taller girls and all the Pocket Monsters, and Taranza himself had shown some degree of magic usage, perhaps they'd understand better than she did.

 

"So the 'broken' might've been only on Nightmare's side. No wonder, he could fix it if he survived." Then there was the fact that the new majū were Pokémon like the others had said, and that the pink toy with the rings named "Hoopa" was the one who could transport them between worlds. "Do you think he's gotten his hands on some 'Hoopa' somehow? Eh, either way we're storming his place and blowing it up, harder this time."

And then Snowy yawned. It's been a long day, after all. "If y'all excuse me, I need to get some z's." That said, the blue Ninetales went to her tent to sleep. "Ah, right. It's late already," Taranza stood up after finishing his apple. "G'night, guys." He then hovered to his web hammock not far from the campsite. Realizing this (and following Brenna's yawn), the gijinkas bade goodnight in both sign ("Good night,") and Japanese ("Oyasumi,") and went in their shared tent. Not without Brenna putting Aaron's staff in the toy basket, of course.

In the tent, Airin and Brenna briefly discussed their plan to ask Dedede himself about the transporter from earlier. All done in sign language because they didn't plan for anyone who were not gijinkas to tag along.

(Tl;dr, all of my characters are done for the IC day.)

 

"Um... What was it that Brenna was going to say?" Maria said to Evergreen.

Evergreen, whose eyes became very wide, frantically waved her hands about and quickly said (quietly), "Nothing that you need to know! Better not to know! It's late, Maria. We should get some sleep. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow."

"Oh, uh... Okay! Let's get some sleep!" Maria said, and so innocently, Evergreen noticed. Then the pair went to their tent and went to get some sleep. It had been a long night, so the morning wouldn't be far off.

 

Well, if Meta was here, Flamberge decided to ask. "Do you think you can keep watch a few hours from now? I know we should probably rest, but after the attacks today, I don't think I can sleep without keeping an eye out for at least a while." Not even waiting for an answer, she sat down a short distance from the center of the camp, sword ready by her side.
(Don't worry about Meta responding to this - Berge is quite prone to falling asleep after that few-hour point anyway.)

 

Maria and Evergreen slept side by side in the same tent. It felt kind of like old times when they shared Maria's room at the park when they were done with park duties for the day. Maria slept soundly, and Evergreen was more tired out than anyone else. All that fighting had really taken a toll on her energy.

The next morning...

Taranza

Taranza woke up pretty early as soon as the sunshine hit his face through the trees. Took him quite awhile to settle himself. Seems like the campsite was rather quiet with only Flamberge outside and still sleeping (he didn't see where Meta Knight slept). Not wanting to disturb the others, Taranza quietly packed his things and fly away to that one plane (or whatever it was) he and Sectonia had raided to rescue the People of the Sky from Nightmare's clutches some time ago. And no, he didn't want anyone to mess with it, hence the young spider leaving them without even saying goodbye.

(That said, Taranza's out until y'all ready for Nightmare's HQ raid.)

Blacky

Opening his eyes, Blacky found himself laying down in a tent with a blanket draped on him. Not quite as comfy as the beds at various inns back in Ardamore, but pretty much beats sleeping outside...

Wait a minute. The last thing Blacky remembered was a swordswoman smacking him with a flat thing (he didn't know it was the flat side of Berge's sword) during his fight against Nightmare's trance, and now he woke up to this???

The (now sane) Umbreon warrior hastily got out from the tent to find more tents and what was previously a bonfire at the centre of the camp. Not to mention that swordswoman from before sleeping not that far from the campsite.

That said, Blacky sat down on a nearby rock, mulling over what he had done...

Brenna

A good while after Taranza was gone, Brenna woke up. She could feel Airin stirring in her sleep. Not wanting to disturb her childhood friend, Brenna carefully stood up and made her way outside. The camp itself was relatively the same as last night but with the campfire turned off, Flamberge still asleep, and that sword-wielding Umbreon from last night sitting on a rock nearby...

Brenna wasn't that sure on how to approach him.

 

Flamberge hadn't exactly realized that she'd dozed off during the night, somehow still sitting up. Her sword remained by her side, although she now clutched onto some grass with her dominant hand. She seemed quite caught up in dreaming of a battle against a concerningly muscular version of Dedede, for some reason.

 

(By "a concerningly muscular version of Dedede", Choco told me in Discord that they're referring to the buff Dedede from Star Allies:

However, considering this RP is set in the anime-verse, the host might think of the "concerningly muscular version of Dedede" as Devil King Dedede (a.k.a. Dedede possessed by the Demon Frog) instead:

Oh Arceus, what have I done??? Blacky was filled with a mix of guilt and regret at this point. The knight of Ardamore hadn't expected his investigation of the portals back home to go downhill like that. Taken in by an otherworldly villain, being forcibly brainwashed to serve him (though Blacky somehow managed to keep his sanity intact despite everything), then being sent out to destroy this one guy... what was his name again, Kirby?

Blacky's memories then flew back to his old comrades from 3 years prior to the portals' appearances all over Ardamore. Xuehua... Atelier... Aine... He didn't want to imagine any of them going through the mess he had gone through.

He didn't notice a not-quite-Primarina (re: Brenna) braving herself to come closer to him. "Hey," her gentle pat on his shoulder was enough to snap him out from his funk. "You okay?"

Evergreen had surprisingly woken up ahead of Maria despite the long hours and energy expended last night. Then again, Maria was still a kid and needed more sleep than her, she supposed. Maria herself was still sleeping soundly, so Evergreen got up, picked up her purse and left the tent. Flamberge was half-asleep, Meta Knight had gone completely to sleep, the toys weren't up, and neither were her other companions besides Brenna and that upright Umbreon (she didn't see Taranza).

And the Gardevoir couldn't keep her eyes off the Umbreon. As if gijinka wasn't enough, now there was this? He looked pained, as if there was sadness in his eyes. Seeing that Brenna was already talking with him, Evergreen went up to them. "Do you mind if I join you?"

 

(Oh, yes. Needed an excuse for some angsty Blacky moment here, haha. In case you didn't notice, I'm referring to him as "younger Blacky" in Evolution Quest and "older Blacky" here. )

Before Blacky could answer Brenna's concerned question, a Gardevoir with a purse in her hand (Evergreen) asked if she could join in. He only nodded to both ladies as a nonverbal "Yeah" to Brenna and "Sure, I don't mind" to Evergreen while the former said, "Oh, sure," to the latter.

Neither Blacky nor Brenna realized that Airin was already awake and joined them. She was about to sign but decided not to. Instead, she wrote, "Do you need a hug?" on a new page in her notebook and passed it to the upright Umbreon. "That would be nice, uh..." he hesitantly looked at the three ladies before him. "...who wrote this again?" In response to the rather awkward answer, the Decidueye gijinka (or as Blacky would word it, the not-quite-Decidueye) wrapped her arms around him.

Oh, Airin. Don't ever change. Brenna just smiled at this sight.

Evergreen nervously sat with the others, and mainly because she had never seen someone quite like Blacky. However, she could feel something was bothering his mind, as made evident by the Decidueye gijinka's adorable reaction. Just seeing Airin spontaneously hug Blacky - a complete stranger - like that caused Evergreen to giggle a little. She put her purse in her lap and let them be for a while. It seemed like Blacky needed more time to recuperate.
