Another new app has been announced for Japan. On the Google Play Store for Android handsets, a new app called the Pokémon Music Pokédex is to be released. This app allows for you to purchase Pokémon music from the games from Pokémon Red & Green onwards. This app is free with three tracks but can have additional tracks purchased for 120Â¥ a piece. You can play them as much as you want, loop them and it has its own interface that looks like a classic Pokédex. It also allows you to put in sound effects of PokéBalls, Pokémon cries or item use during the play of music. You can also have the music run endlessly.

The announced Pokémon Music Pokédex is available for download on Android devices in Japan. This app lets you purchase music from each of the games for 120Â¥ each and play it in the app. At the moment, only music from Pokémon Red & Green, FireRed & LeafGreen and the first half of HeartGold & SoulSilver is available. You can add various sound effects to it, or loop it round as you wish.

You can also create medleys of tracks and tag them with your own special tags. It requires 25MB to download initially but requires more space as you download more music. You cannot transfer the music to your PC or play on an iPod, however.

The app also has an English option called Pokémon Jukebox which has full English text and even its own English logo. It's unclear if this means it will have a release outside of Japan yet

Psh, do they think people are suckers? All OSTs can obviously be downloaded via Torrent, or YouTube to MP3 converter. ._.
I like the idea of it overall, but I doubt this will be any huge success.

This sounds like a neat idea, but as Nator has mentioned above, people can just download the OSTs from online sources. Let's see what they have in store for us, nonetheless.

Or you could even download the music on iTunes. This seems a bit redundant.
