I've not nicknamed mine for a few years.. it annoyed me a bit when some of my Pokémon were nicknamed but most others had no name, especially ones I caught just for the dex entry. They should either all have nicknames or all be un-nicknamed just so things look a bit nicer.. and the latter was easier so I went with that. </3 When I nicknamed my Pokémon more often I usually went with dessert or other food names.

I usually don't nickname my Pokémon unless I actually plan to use it in my main playthroughs. It's usuall becausey I can't think of a nickname, or I don't see the point to nickname a Pokémon I'm going to throw in the box forever. However, whenever I do nickname Pokémon, I usually look for names in different languages such as french or japanese.

I should nickname more often. I usually nickname stuff when wondertrading, and get a good laugh out of it, but the best nickname I've had for a Braviary was Murica. Also, I've had a Tyranitar named Spiky.jr and a Sceptile named Trik.
I nickname all my Pokémon in fanfiction, but not in my games.

I only nickname my Mons on my very first playthrough of a game, or on a Nuzlocke (for it's a requirement). Other than that, I rarely bother to nickname my Pokémon. My most memorable nicknamed Mon though, is from my beloved Crystal Version; Gatorade the Feraligatr.

When I first started out playing, I only nicknamed my starter because... every thing else frankly kinda sucked. Nowadays, I'll nickname everything- even the Pokémon that I'm not going to use.

    I nickname all my mons!
I don't really have a single theme that I name them, but I some times have little trends of similar names (usually when breeding).
Mostly though, I nickname them on a whim of whatever comes to mind first.

Unfortunately, I don't nickname my Pokémon unless they are shiny. I want to make a nickname for my Pokémon for the fanfiction, but I fear that their nicknames wouldn't be great and 10 minutes later, I'd think of a better one. I know it's better to call a Venusaur "Billy", as it gives it more of a bond with his/her trainer, but I also like them not nicknamed.

I am a hardcore nicknamer. I always have to have my Pokémon nicknamed or else I don't feel a connection towards them.

Most of my nicknames are pretty cheesy, though. (Ninja Kermit the froakie is a good example xD)

The first time I nicknamed my in-game party was I think White 2, and then I did so in X and Omega Ruby. As a challenger I attempt to nickname my Pokémon regularly, especially in -Locke challenges where you basically have to. Here were some of the nicknaming themes I used in some of my most grueling challenges in...

    White 2: Modern constellations
X: Male Pokémon were metal alloys, female Pokémon were gemstones
    Heart Gold: Musical instruments
    Platinum: Dances
    Black: Animated Disney characters

I only really nickname the ones I plan on using on my team otherwise I don't even bother, unless I have to in a locke challenge. Though I usually don't name them until I'm sure I want that specific name because knowing me, I'd end up changing it 5 minutes later...

I nicknamed my Pokémon sometimes, but I really started in Y.

    - Luna for Absol, then Hel to my new baby Absol when I wanted to make a competitive mega (Hel is something like a goddess of death)
    - "Couveuse" for a slugma in Diamond, I don't really know how to say it in english, I searched and found Incubator, but we can say "Incubateur" too, and it doesn't have the heat aspect for caring eggs etc, so I don't know
    - Belly for Bronzong
    - Adamantium for Weezing, man I love this balloon.
    - Jesus for Gallade, because it endures some meteors of Salamence
    - Kebab for Emboar (but I think half of the planet did the same XD)

And that's all I have in mind right now. :)

I try to give all of my Pokémon names. I believe the best one was when I caught a Marill really late at night so I named it T!ts5er9er

I had to use an exclamation point for the i haha

I always nickname my Pokémon! I find it hard to use a Pokémon if it doesn't have a nickname. Nicknames help give a Pokémon that personal touch and allows you to connect more with it, at least in my opinion. I always try to name every Pokémon I catch, even if it's a weird name.

Some of my favorite names that I've given my Pokémon are-

    Skyradient the Rayquaza
    Cronos the Charizard
    Ragnarok the Dunsparce
    Euthenia the Goodra
    Helios the Volcarona

I'm not super great at nicknaming things, but I do really enjoy it nonetheless.

I used to nickname whenever I could, but now I reserve nicknames for Pokémon I'll actually use, or just shinies.

When I first started playing, I never nicknamed my Pokémon. So years later when I transferred them I nicknamed them, haha. I nickname them all, though in ORAS I didn't nickname them immediately unless I knew I was going to use them.

Either I nickname them or I don't; usually not, especially for a first runthrough. Usually if I do I'll nickname them in the style of the Pokémon Special characters- for example, a Venusaur named Saur or a Blazekein named Toro. Or I nickname the first thing that pops into my head (examples can be seen in my Wonderlocke), like Dift Away the Drifloon and Beefy the Machop.

I nickname all my Pokémon except for a few, usually those I catch to trade for something over the GTS.
But I think my best nicknamed Pokémon, not originally mine, was a shiny Charizard named "Spinach Soup".
Also a shiny Liepard from a trade named "TightropePRO" along with my shiny Purrloin named "Tailmon". (It's the name of a cat Digimon.)

I nickname nearly all my Pokémon. Some nicknames are stranger than others... It's a running gag for me to nickname Mewtwo as "Mew2", "Mewtoo" or "Mewto".

I only ever named my first starter, in my first game. I named him Quillo (it wa a cyndaquil) because I thought he was cute, but when he evolved into Typhlosion he wasn't all that cute anymore.-.

It does kind of irritate me if I trade and the Pokémon I'm getting has a nickname... I dunno, I just don't like the fact that I can't change it if I wanted too.
