Pokémon of the Week/Tournaments for the Competitive section

If the tournament is on Pokémon Showdown I'd be game.

For Pokémon of the week who'd choose the Pokémon and write the entries? Or will there be a mass vote/nomination thing? (which I would prefer)

 

I am very much for some tournament action I think after this becomes a thing, theme tournaments should be a thing

 

Tournaments sound good, as it might make the community a bit more active. As for the Pokémon of the Week, as I think this was mentioned earlier in the post, is a voting type of session with 3-4 different sets of different pokes from members of the LV Community(Up to the staff on that one though). Not sure if this is the feedback you are looking for, if not, I can edit it to make it a bit better.

 

The problem is though, everyone says "Yes! Let's do tournaments, I'll take part!" but when the time comes, they fail to do so. It's pretty lame since a lot of tournaments take careful planning and dedication so it can be pretty annoying to have your time wasted. We really need dedicated battlers who will be ready to take part at the time.

 

Hopefully we will actually have a successful tournament for once! If you ever need help with Pokémon of the Week just ask me!

 

I would love to join tournaments but sadly like Ben said some people don't show up to the tournaments. Also if we win does the theme have to do with the Pokémon of the Month?

 

An Eevee evolutions theme would be pretty cool.

 

I would try out having each tourney lasting a week, just to give people extra time to get their battles in between real life. And if we are going to do themes, let's do Pokémon Showdown, I'm not going to raise a team that I will use for only a couple of battles lol.

 

I agree for themes it takes people a while to make a team maybe reconsider the themes and maybe do something with Pokémon Showdown?

 

Maybe the tournaments should take place over a longer period of time so that everyone can get their battles in. For example a round of the tournament takes place over four days and in that time you have to fight to opponent you have been paired with.

Also, before a tournament is announced I think we should get a poll going on when ppl will be most available. I'm pretty sure lots of ppl are eager to participate, they just don't have time for it

 

This is definitely a good idea. We haven't done this in the past and I think it would really help tournaments get up and running again. If they're really successful we could do like two a month and maybe if we can figure out how, get a Pokémon Showdown server.

 

I think it would be hard to get our own room, but I guess we could try, or we could use one of those servers that are always empty lol

 

I think we could easily get our own room, we just need connections with a staff member there. I'm pretty sure they're understanding and reasonable about it too. If any of you know a staff member there, or even a member who might have contacts which could get us our own room/server, let us know.
