Pokémon Smash Z (sprite show)

Hello, guys. Today I am announcing a show that I am working on: Pokémon Smash Z, a Pokémon and Super Smash Bros. crossover inspired by Dragon Ball Z, hence the "Z". There might be about 5 or 6 sagas. The first saga is about Dylan the Riolu and friends on a journey to stop Sonic from using the seven Smash Balls to take over the world. Most of Pokémon Smash Z will take place in SSBB's Subspace Emissary's world.

Characters:

Name: Dylan the Riolu
Species: Riolu
Moves: Aura Sphere/Super Aura Sphere, Bulk Up (inspired by the Kaio-ken), Focus Blast (inspired by the Spirit Bomb), and Fire Punch (like Falcon Punch)
Description: A young Riolu from The Forest, he sets out on a quest to stop Sonic from using the Smash Balls to take over the world. Along the way, he meets Amanda the Lucario. He is a skilled fighter and Aura user, and his love interest is Melanie the Meloetta. His best friend is Jake the Piplup. He is a happy and optimistic Riolu, loves to fight, and best of all, being a hero. Using the seven Smash Balls enables him to transform into Super Dylan.

Name: Jake the Piplup
Species: Piplup
Moves: Water Gun, Hydro Pump, Whirlpool (inspired by the Destructo Disc), and Aqua Jet.
Description: Jake is Dylan's best friend. They love to spar together, and when trouble arises, he will comedically try to stop the evil force wrecking havoc on the world. He is also in love with Melanie, but refuses to show it, because he is afraid that he and Dylan will start fighting.

Name: Melanie the Meloetta
Species: Meloetta
Moves: ???
Description: Dylan's love interest, she joins him on his quest to stop Sonic from using the seven Smash Balls to take over the world. She loves to sing, being with Dylan and friends, and helping out. Using the Smash Balls enables her to transform into Super Melanie the Meloetta.

So what do you think of the characters? Also, I need a good plot for the first episode of Pokémon Smash Z. I do NOT want training and then fighting the bad guy, training, then having dinner, and finally fighting a bad guy, etc. I want something more original, something to fit in the Pokémon Smash Z world, and I've already have a lot of sagas in mind, but I will not reveal them right now so as to spoil you guys. If you guys could help me out with the first episode's plot, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Dylan and Jake go out in the woods, and play around. Then they are suddenly confronted by a random Subspace Army troop. After defeating the troop, the troop tells them about Sonic and how they must defeat him. The troop dissolves into Shadow Bugs, and Dylan and Jake set off on their quest.

I'm going to be using Windows Movie Maker (for animating) and MS Paint and/or Pivot (for creating the scenes). And ignore that whole woods/fight plot of the first episode. It wasn't fitting. Now if somebody could help me...
